Come to think of it, how didn’t the other school catch this? You would think that they would’ve been searching for film on them to study.

 

Some coaches thrive under pressure... some don't. Also... coaching for 1 school/conference doesn't translate well in others. This separates the good coaches from the great ones.

Charlie Strong tried to bring his Big East philosophy into the Big XII... didn't translate well at all.

When Urban Meyer moved from MW to SEC, he modified his philosophy accordingly. Success. Same with his jump to B1G...

Frost kept his WMU ideas at Nebraska... they don't work in that culture.

This is why Norvell will not succeed in FSU.

this whole thing is confusing. Apparently they “fired” the coach. How can you fire him if it doesn’t exist? Also just got an ad on Facebook that was hilarious

 

I read an article and I was lost. Like how stupid is the broker for the game and ESPN for not getting this at all?

 

That and schools get too hung up on former players, even the great ones. Leading your team to a NC in 1997 doesn't mean you'll make a good HC in 2021. Ask OU about the John Blake experiment.

 

Everyone enjoys a Prodigal Son/ homecoming story. Unfortunately they don’t always end well.

 

The hope is Dabo comes home to Alabama when Saban dies, not likely to retire before then.

Dabo played at Alabama for Gene Stallings on the 1992 National Title team. I can't see Dabo being a homecoming flop.

 

i believe Dabo has said he’s not interested in going to Bama as he wants build his own legacy and not ride off of someone else’s (something along those lines).
Now that could be him talking as to not shake the boat he’s on at Clemson and/but we all know money talks and Bama boosters will probably talk louder than anyone else. Who knows and time will tell

The GameDay site was packed this morning. We got there around 10:30-10:45 but were able to make our way to Ol Crimson. Stood beside those guys until gameday was over. My wife was asking if I thought we’d be on camera. I told her if she wanted a shot, stand by ol crimson. Got a lot of “did I just see you on Gameday?” Texts

 

Tulane just got totally dicked by the officials on a mystery PI call after an INT against OU. Could have cost them.the game.
