That brand is notoriously poor quality, but I've never seen the projectors installed so wrong. Typically it is broken adjusters, headlights that can't be aimed, horrible output, leaking headlights, condensation in the lens, UV degraded/hazed lenses, ect. This is the all things 2nd Gen headlight thread, not meaning to pick on you in any way, just sharing yet another one of their product failures to the wider audience.

Can you fit 2011-2015 headlights on a 2005-2010 Tacoma ? I know the grill and bumper are slightly different so was wondering if the headlight fit the same.

Don’t know where the thread is, but yes a 2.5 gen front end can be swapped to a 2 gen. Everything bolts up, you just need all the parts and I’m not sure on the fenders and hood.

Not without swapping everything else. They are not interchangeable

I think he was asking if just the headlights could be swapped in, not the whole front end.

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. I haven’t touched base on here for a while. I have just seen you might need a hand getting some stuff sent to you?
I have helped out another bloke from up your way with similar requests.
What are you planning on doing?

Fellas, got a diff question. My manual Ute runs 3.58 diff gears. Thinking of changing to 3.909 gears which are standard in the automatic version of my Ute. I need a bit more low down torque for take off when towing or carrying heavy stuff which is quite often for me.
    Only running 235/75/R15. Standard tires.
Will changing to 3.909 be enough to help me low down you think? Up high in 5th will obviously rev a tad higher but I’m thinking only maybe 300rpm more. many advise or thoughts?

Thanks for the offer. I found a freight forwarding company to cover it, but the wheels I was looking to export were actually no longer available in Australia.

Sorry for the non-lighting thread derail.

You might find better advice in a sub-forum other than Lighting.

Like others have said, this is now way too many posts to wade through... has anyone posted about how the housings hold up to this higher temp and higher output?

I'm really struggling with mine. The stock/OEM lights were hazy, getting moisture inside, and partly melted after about 7 or 8 years. I replaced them with cheap-ish housings that only lasted a couple of years. Then I "upgraded" to what I thought was a decent (read: more expensive) HID set-up, including the necessary new housings for the HID, and now those are full of moisture and starting to haze on the exterior one year later.

I just want to put something in that will last a while!

A new set of OEM lamps are going to hold up better than a set of aftermarket ones. Stick with the proven basics: good lamp, good bulb, relay harness, and lastly and most important: Good Aim.

I haven't been running my Ultimate Headlight Mod for a long time, but so far I can't see any signs of additional wear. I think what you'll find is that you'll burn through bulbs at a quicker pace (someone please correct me if i'm wrong) but nothing should affect the actual OEM headlight housings.

I'll keep watching for other replies, but, if that's the case, I'll just go back to the OEM and consider the lamp upgrades. I feel like my original housings lasted 6-8 years (don't remember the actual date I first swapped them), which I thought could have been better. Honestly, though, I've now put in more than one set of aftermarket housings and I'm really starting to think the 6 years wasn't so bad!
