Lost our Cocker a year ago. Was not looking for a dog but my wife surprised me with this big guy. 1 year, 9 month old Pocket Pitbull. Original owners kept him crated in an apartment even when home and neglected him. He doesn't even know his name. Named him Patton after the great General George S. Patton. Going to shower him with love.

Congrats! He is smiling in this photo. Can't wait to watch his progress. This'll be fun. We got our guy a few months back (about the same age). He has only known the streets and the shelter before coming to us and we are having so much fun exposing him to new experiences.

I thought the same but the original owners said he is pure bred Mini Pit. Still trying to get the paperwork.

Yep. He’s cream colored. Kind of rare. The Japanese lady we got him from said it’s only the second one she’s had in 25 years of breeding. I had a Black and Tan one when I was a kid:thumbsup:
He’s not huge. 23.4 lbs (we were just at the vet yesterday) which is average for a male. Pic must put some weight on him!

This guy (Sullivan) was a dream dog since I was a wee child, a purebred Siberian Husky, all of our other dogs have been rescued. For all of his idiosyncrasies, and neurotic tendencies, he can howl, and be social inept.

However, he lets our kids grab him, climb on him, and hit him (with their toys) and he just lays on his side and looks irritated. Doesn't bite, doesn't bark. It took him 5 years to walk on a leash without thinking I was his sled. We love him.

    Yeah.
Love her coloring. We have a thick lady, too, 36 pounds.

My male is 42 pounds, and he's not fat. Both are AKC registered, with registered DNA and pedigrees. Due to ours being quite large for Shibas, we are starting believe that something got messed up on the Japan side. My male looks exactly like a Shikoku on the AKC site, and his coloring and weight are closer to a Shikoku than a Shiba.

    Here's Kojun:

And here is the Shikoku on the AKC site:

Those are some good looking Shibas! I didn't expect mine to get as big as she has but we run and hike together almost everyday so she's definitely not fat, and really doesn't eat much. She got the genetic test as well and came back 100% Shiba traced for three generations. I don't know how reliable and accurate those type of genetic sequencing tests are but I can tell her personality is undeniably Shiba haha. I've been thinking about getting another one so she'll have another spaz to play with...the other dogs just aren't as high-energy as her.

yep. Best breed ever!! Patient. Smart. Great with kids. Great personalities...

the past 3 years have been the first since 1989 for me to not have at least 3 Siberians around. It sucks. Our current place is not the right size for huskies now though. We are hopefully moving in a few years, and then I will have more
