Anyone near Savannah getting rid of a rear suspension setup? My leaf springs are done and wouldn’t mind adding a little height

 

I think @2013XSPX has a single brand new OME rear leaf and is down your way. You would have to buy the matching one from somewhere else.

 

That is correct @miguel1984. I have one OME leaf and can help you get the other one. It's brand new, never installed. I don't remember what I was asking but I'd do $150 on it.

 

Where does everyone find their used campers shells? Been looking for a few weeks now on here and CL with no avail.

 

I found mine on CL. You tried FB marketplace? Maybe expand your search on CL

 

I see more pop up on FB Marketplace, but CL is a good option too. Something I do on CL when I'm looking for something and am willing to drive to get it: change the city.

i.e. if you are searching atlanta.craigslist.org for something, you'll get a URL something like https://atlanta.craigslist.org/d/for-sale/search/sss?query=tacoma camper&sort=rel

Change the city in the URL after you complete your search and you'll have the same search with results for whatever city. So you could change "atlanta" to "asheville" or "birminghan" or "montgomery" or "chattanooga" or wherever. As long as it is a "unique" name or at least a big city, you should get results for that area.

 

There's an option for that on the top left

 

I’ve been looking as far north as KY and VA and as far west as AR. I’ll see if the misses can look on FB as I don’t have one. Didn’t think about there though. I assume the classifieds on there works about the same as CL.

You can search FB market place without being on facebook. I'm not but when I find something then I have to let my wife reach out to them. If if its something I don't want her to know I'm trying to buy then I ask one of my TW peeps to reach out for me haha.

What size/color are you looking for? I have also had good luck offering money to people who are selling their truck online.

 

That was going to be my next approach. I’m looking for a white short bed for a 3rd gen. I figured with white being such a popular color this wouldn’t be too challenging but results show otherwise.

 

That's actually what I did. The dude had already sold the truck but I saw that he didn't have the shell installed on the truck. Reached out and got it for $150 color matched outside of ATL. One of the best deals I've ever gotten

 

This is definitely an option I would consider. The only challenge I see in finding one on a used Tacoma that’s for sell is getting to it before the truck is sold. These things seem to be selling as fast as the ad goes live.
