I posted these on the halogen/led/hid comparison thread, but someone mentioned it would be beneficial if I posted them here to. These were initially meant for a troll, but that got locked.

This might be helpful for people on the fence on buying them.

hahaha!! Yeah, I am pretty OCD as well. As I have gotten older I’ve stopped worrying about as much. The most fun I ever had with a vehicle was when I bought a high mileage used M3. It had so many little imperfections I just drove it. It was a blast

Hey brothas. I received my new OEM LED headlights (non Pro) few days ago and I have a few questions.

    1. Is there supposed to be chrome around the LED? I thought these were all blacked out? No big deal.

    2. Am I missing something here? I thought they’ll be plugs in the back but all I see is one connector and the rest look like “covers”. I didn’t want to pull it and break something so I’d figured I’ll ask you guys before I do anything.

I do have the aftermarket wiring harness I purchased from daveeasa.

any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

All normal. The adapter takes the one plug and breaks it out to your existing wiring.

And yes, non pro has a garnish of chrome. While pro has the bro frosting. It’s a can’t win on these. Either you love chrome or you are a poser. I picked poser.

ok I must be tripping then. I thought they’ll be “individual” connectors for the low beam, high beam, DRL? Not just a single plug.

I’ll take a look at it when I get home. I’m Currently at work so I’m anxious to get these installed.

If your truck already had the LED headlights from factory you wouldn’t need a harness.

My 2021 had the LED DRL but still had halogen projectors and they have the individual connectors you’re talking about.

Assuming your truck is TRD {sport or offroad} the truck side will have 5 connectors. DRL, turn, sidemarker, low and high. The conversion harness uses 4 of those and caps the sidemarker. All that mess feeds a single, elegant, clean MX-150 6-pin connector to your headlights. One ground and 5 positives for park, DRL, low, high and turn. The wires should be labeled or the guy who made your harness is a jerk and forgot. The only ones you can possibly mess up are the low and high beams. Low beams are stripes and have one wire, high beams are solid on positive side and white w black for ground matching the oem ground.

If you have any questions while connecting the harness, dm me with a photo showing colors on both sides of each connector and I can tell you if it’s good or not good and if not good what to change.

Ok sounds good. yeah, I own a 17 TRD OR. The connectors and the headlights are at home so I’m sure it’ll make more sense once I start installing it.

but I’ll be definitely messaging you since I ask a lot of questions haha.

FYI, your harness is very clean. Thanks again for a great product.

The harness turns the 5 original wires into one. 4 of the 5 are actually used, since there is an extra side marker wire that is not needed and is capped off. I have a 2017 Sport, and with the harness, the install is pretty plug and play. I got mine from xrunnerdude a long while back, and every wire is color coded and matched to the oem wiring for that extra idiotproofing. Now @daveeasa makes them with the same care and quality.

Installed my lights Sunday, had no issues on Monday or Tuesday, today being day 3 and I got some kind of strange electrical issue starting with my Speedometer dropping and bouncing sporadically and the gauge cluster lighting up almost every symbol like a Christmas tree; almost like it's a ground issue for the harness....maybe?

The harness I purchased was the one I had read in this thread was good for anyone that didn't want to add Raptor lights and just stay with a stock configuration from seller "bigredoc" on ebay.

I think someone else had an issue like this using an eBay harness.

I gots date night right now but remove the harness from the truck and post photos of it? Also, if the problem persists with harness removal then it's not the harness. Obviously don't drive at night without headlights, ok? Should be perfectly save to drive during daytime without front turns and DRL if you aren't a total jerk.

    EDIT, sorry @Tacospike, wrong reply.

    @.J.

We will get you sorted out no matter what. H9 connectors have an arrival date today of Friday and I'm hopeful the DRL's and Turns I need will show around then too.
