I hope he is on vacation and enjoying life.

We were lucky yesterday in Bowie. Mild winds and light rain. Meanwhile 12 miles away in Annapolis a tornado touched down.

Today is a pond work day in the AM then a haircut. Such a busy life. LOL Since I am not too busy pork ribs on the grill for dinner. Along with broccoli and cut up potatoes with onions and salt & pepper. Toss the potatoes with olive oil and it will be a meal. Staying away from sugar, grains and dairy this month.

    Morning all:
I don't know how much we got, but we got a lot of rain in our area. This is the second time in a little over a week that my drainage ditches are flowing at capacity and water is flowing from winter springs and running down my driveway.
Here is the river we fish at around 5.8', it's a little high right now!

We’re parked at a rest stop waiting for 2 more trailers to caravan to the track. Rain has stopped here but I think trying to get in is going to be a issue. The big rigs use a field to maneuver into it. I think some are going to sink. Going to be a interesting trip

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Peoples! Wife and I headed out for a 3'rd shot today - not arguing over the timing, I'll take it. Too many that won't around here, so I'll take all the protection I can get.

Now y'all know what "after hurricane" rain is! Glad you all seem OK. Normally, only the first day inland gets that kind of weather, but, hey! What's normal anymore? Make sure you don't lose YOUR cars in the swamp Mike!!

No one got in the pool with me, but my little 3M Dust (Water) Channeling sanding blocks are making short work of the paint spots the wife hates. Can't see any around the edge any more. Will be strapping them to a pole to get to the deeper spots. Wife manually vacuumed it yesterday, and it looks like a real pool again!

    Got what I was after....before;

I took the quad out to check our property for damage this morning. We seemed to have faired well - a few small branches down but nothing major. Water levels are up but nothing is overflowing.

Looking back up at our house from the big pond.

    Afternoon all:
:annoyed: I had mentioned this before, a hung up broken off tree in the yard. Was outside and heard the cracking, looked over and saw it drop, at least I wasn't under it mowing, MORE WORK!

    Good morning everyone!

Opted not to cut our grass yesterday - still way too wet. Think I'll wait until tomorrow - I know there will be wet spots but it is growing quickly. I think I'll take in the recycling this morning and focus on some smaller projects. We are going to have a late lunch with some of Lynn's friends who own a house on a small lake a few miles from us. Then, Happy Hour!

    Pool is looking awesome, Kurt!

    Be safe out there!!!

Going over to a friends house today. She had a dead oak cut down and into fireplace lengths. Free firewood but I can only use about a pallet load. We do not use the fireplace all that much and burn about a pallet load per winter.

Wow the northeast was hit hard. Little rain here but Ida picked up moisture off of the Jersey Shores and into the northeast. Drying out and cleaning up is on the agenda this week for the northeast.

mike: Have a great weekend and hope your car does well.

Kurt the pool looks great. My parents had a pool and I know the work involved to keep it looking good.

Mark: Nice view of the house.

Good morning porchies!! Ida left us with 8.21 inches of rain and at one point it was coming down at 4.3 inches per hour. The rainfall overwhelmed the bridge culvert at the bottom of the hill and caused the stream to overflow its banks flooding our community pump house - about 3 feet of water in the pump house. I spent yesterday working with the water system operators to get the system up and running and then to get the pump house cleaned up and dried out.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Gals! Well, it's Friday, so, I must be mowing. Then into the pool with my sanding block to track down the remaining smears - at least they are working well. Like Tom said, pools can be a pain to maintain, so I am trying to get it back to wife cares for the water, and I care for equipment. That is maintenance enough. We just got a programmable DC motor last year, and it's probably saving money and now works great (1'st brain was bad, but they fixed it).

So glad to see that most of you had no terrible impact from Ida! Serious is enough. When Harvey meandered through Texas (which is how I got my truck), it finally went back South ONE County South of us. Tropical sideways rain for a whole day was really getting us worried. We really have nothing that can flood, but everywhere in the neighborhood was sure trying. Water is a very powerful force. We were very glad to have him turn around.

Have a great Labor Day weekend, everyone!

    What???
You want me to take a break from all this scintillating discussion of downed tree limbs and mowing the lawn? How am I going to keep up with all the medical gossip and the other depressing shit?

    Nice cut...

Got that fixed so he could run.
Lots of stupid driving and not many laps completed.
So we carved out a second place qualifying time for tomorrow.
