Hey Taylor, I as well have cracked lenses on my cyclones, I filled out a warranty form but Its been 2 months without a reply, I got over it and spent 250$ on a new set of 5. I understand that I filled out a warranty claim on a rock light kit that I’m using as a 3rd brake light but you guys use a picture from this forum to sell that kit on Amazon so I don’t see the problem there, you guys could have at least reached out to me.

I was just going to cut up some acrylic to make new lenses and use my old cyclones as rock lights since I have 5 with cracked lenses and 1 spare good one.

I however see that you guys released a new version of the cyclone with a replaceable lens (go figure). Will these new lenses from the cyclone V2 fit the old V1 of the cyclone? Will these new cyclone V2’s fit the KC5 housing meso made? The dimensions are identical according to your website.

My cyclones cracked from years (2 to be exact) of UV damage, my clear cracked lenses are quite yellow. The new cyclones (V1.5) that I just bought are an updated version of the original cyclones, same looking light with 6 screws in the lens but a new board and a different led layout. Is it the same lens on this V1.5 as the V1? Are they therefore going to crack after a couple years of UV exposure?

Any plans for the KC5? The original cyclones are discontinued.

I have an extra KC housing and ordered 2 of the new cyclones to see how they fit. ill update here when they arrive. from what I've read the new ones will sit a little more shallow in the housing but show the same diameter as the originals.

    Late the this thread. :sorry:
Wow so it looks like KC changed the size of their cyclones!!?
Are they additions or will the V1 still be produced?

looks like I’m off to design some new brake lights…

The hex project is coming back from the dead….

V1’s are discontinued according to most supplier websites, V2’s are the same overall diameter as a V1 according to KC’s website and the launch video. The only thing that’s changed is the inside mounting hole’s diameter but you use a smaller fastener so it should still work with the new V2’s, folks are just going to need a different sized hillman plug now.

Oh and I made my own damn lenses for the V1’s, they won’t fit in Meso’s KC5 housing but I’m just using all my old cyclone’s from my KC5 as rock lights now and replaced these ones with new V1’s for the KC5. I saved 3 out of 5 of my old ones before they got water damaged so a new lens and they’re good to go.

Made these out of polycarbonate, it’s twice as thick as the original lens so I had to recess the holes to sink the screw heads but I can apply as much torque as I want now without worrying about cracking the lens.

The level of precision was me free handing these with a 2.5 inch hole saw and a few drill bits, didn’t measure anything, just went by eye since they’re going under the truck and I was planning on sealing them with silicone anyways.

    upload_2021-9-3_8-44-39.jpg

and since I only had 3 old ones I used a brand new spare red one I had laying around and removed the lens for my home made lens.

    upload_2021-9-3_8-45-43.jpg

and now I have a set of trouble free clear rock lights.

    @MESO

so the new cyclones I ordered showed up today. deff a small amount more shallow. still fits in the 3rd brake light housing but not as tightly as before. will be fine once the bolts are installed. nice that they come with their own cap covers now. im glad these new ones are weather sealed I think the -50 winters aided in the failure of the ones currently on my truck.

new one on the far right if you couldn't tell.

Looks like KC finally took our input with the Blacked out PCB boards lol. The lens looks much nicer as well. Maybe I can tweak the KC 3rd brake light to make it more shallow so the lights don't sit as recessed. Also will help cut down the overall profile of the housing.

The new cyclones clear lens looks cloudy/diffuse compared to the original clear lens cyclones.

One could simply install a Teflon washer in between his current KC5 and the new V2 cyclones to make up the gap.
