Many people have a mindset of "Well I'm more careful than other people, it'll be okay for me specifically to ignore these warnings." Or something along those lines where mental gymnastics provide them a loophole to do whatever the hell they want and damn the consequences.

My grandpa almost died in '85 during the election day floods in WV when the fire truck he was using to evacuate people was swept away.

A fire truck, you know, one of the heaviest things on the roads. A passenger vehicle just doesn't stand a chance.

There wasn’t any flood though, or barricades; It was just some guy in a Sprinter van at the hospital partially blocking access to the empty parking lot of a destroyed building (again, shouldn’t have driven back there); In the neighborhood, there was also no barricade or flood. It was just some PECO prick who thought he would act all high and mighty…

Like, really dude? You want me to leave the neighborhood yet you’re gonna step in front of my truck and prevent me from leaving while you shoot the shit with your equally egotistical coworker? As stated before, as soon as I confirmed the PECO guy was clear of my truck, I just floored it and left him standing there dumbfounded; He was not a cop and I was under no obligation to stick around and chat with him…

I discovered this guy on my windshield after leaving my house to go to work yesterday morning; He managed to cling on for over a mile!

    Good morning all, happy Friday.

Sorry to hear about so many having such a difficult week with loss and damage from the storm. Here's hoping that everyone can enjoy the beautiful weather we're supposed to get and a long weekend.

This weekend I'll be finishing up some maintenance on the BMW and loading it up. Monday we start our cross- country road trip!

So, it’s a $1,000 fine for littering on a public road in PA, right?

My girlfriend loves Diet Sunkist so I gave her a can before taking her home last night; We were on Almshouse Road when this happened…

She rolled her window down, then quickly rolled it back up, and I realized she no longer had the soda can; It took me a millisecond to figure out what had happened…

I was pissed; I was like “Did you just throw that ****ing can out the window?” She’s like “Yeah”, and didn’t seem to realize the seriousness of throwing garbage out of a moving vehicle.

My girlfriend has issues (that I didn’t realize were as severe as they were) and reacts very strongly to people “yelling” at her. I told her that if we got pulled over and issued a ticket, she’d be paying it; When I told her how much the ticket would cost, she’s like “I can’t afford that!”

My response was “Well, maybe you’ll think twice before throwing trash out of my truck again, won’t you?!?!”

Her excuse was “there’s nobody around” o_O

I am far from a neat freak, my truck has Weathertech floor liners, and I made it clear to her that I could care less if she just threw the can on the floor. My truck gets filled with soda cans, plastic bottles, and food wrappers on long drives, and I just remove the passenger side Weathertech and dump whatever’s in it into the garbage can when I get home… :D

Seriously, I don’t litter; I’ve thrown an apple core or two (or ten) out the window on a back road (The key difference here is that an apple core is not only biodegradable but can be eaten by wildlife, while an aluminum can obviously does not fall into either of those categories), but what my girlfriend did annoys me and her turning things around to make me seem like the asshole really pissed me off!

    :annoyed:

Long story short, my girlfriend drank a soda while I was driving her home and instead of tossing the can on the floor of the truck like a somewhat normal person, decided to throw it out the window when I was going like 45 MPH. When I called her out on it, she tried to justify her actions by saying nobody was around, and then turned the tables to make me feel like a jerk…

Unfortunately, this is not the first time something like this has happened, where my girlfriend does something that at best annoys me or at worst defies all common sense, and then pulls the “Don’t yell at me, it traumatizes me” card and tries to make me feel like an asshole…

It’s not gonna last; She’s already talking about moving in together and shit, and yet she alternates between wanting to be in a committed relationship and just being friends with benefits (make up your damn mind)! She’s had some traumatic experiences in her life and my goal is not to totally wash my hands of her but rather get her qualified professional help and be on the sidelines…

She doesn't have issues, she has a subscription. It's tough being in a relationship with someone like that. Big reason my ex-wife is just that, EX-wife. Best of luck if you do stay together. For me it was just more than I could deal with and BTW that doesn't make you an asshole. You have to take care of yourself first or there's no way you can take care of someone else.
