Nice I’ll have to give that a go. Always thought they would t fit. I had the exped fill with air once and was pushing my tent up. Not a bunch of room in there. Figure based on this 2 bags. Did you need to open them up?

Yeah two sleeping bags. I just have them side by side and rolled out flat as possible. I did not open them up.

All this bag talk… it would be useful if you state you have more of a $20 Coleman Walmart special which is 6” thick and non-compressible or an 800-fill down which compresses to a tennis ball. (Two extremes, but the generic talk isn’t that useful without knowing what “sleeping bag” means)

Jeez my bad lol! Here’s info/pix I pulled online about the sleeping bags I store in the tent. Nothing fancy but they do the job.

    - Double-layer offset quilt construction eliminates cold spots
    - 100% Polyester
    - Great cold weather sleeping bag rated to +5 F lowest, ideal comfort range 20-40 degrees
    - 3 pounds of Hollowblend MicroTekk Z1 synthetic fill
    - Drawstring hood and draft tube; soft polyester lining
    - Measures 84 x 24 x 33 inches (W x H x D); weighs 5 pounds
    - Color: International orange & gray as pictured
    - Comes with a handy light compression sack for transport

Thanks for the info. It makes a huge difference. Backpacking bags that I have will fit no matter what. I've got a big 2 person synthetic one that's massive and bulky. I'm gonna try to stuff it under the SP next time I get chance

Shout out to my Big Agnes Camp Robber Bedroll two person setup. Perfect warm to cool weather down bag that fits the ExPed. I actually used it in 30 degrees in Yosemite a few months ago and it was OK. Bottom sheet feels like a regular sheet. Hate those sweaty down bags. I deflate the ExPed and leave the bag attached. No issues with closing the tent, plenty of room.

    Three things:

    1. On the topic of the clamps/blocks, I tried moving the block down (on just one clamp for now) to be flush in the bottom of the track and tightened it down pretty well. Feels a bit more secure, but I guess a solid bump could dislodge it. Curious if anyone has a take on this: pic 1 vs pic 2. Thanks

    2. Also finally got around to wiring the brake light. Postitaps made it super easy.
    IMG_6056.HEIC.jpg IMG_6054.HEIC.jpg

    3. Anyone finding water in the hollow section of your side doors? Kinda hard to see, but that's the lower channel in the side door and it's filled with water. It didn't rain last night -- just condensation on the truck. I guess it's seeping through the seal at the top of the door and dripping down the "gutters" into the bottom of the door. When I open the door all the way, the water pours out. It *mostly* doesn't go into the camper, but I imagine if it rained a lot it might.

I was giving the camper a once over today after lubing up my tent latches with BOSHIELD T9!!!
And adjusting my door latches again I decided to make sure all the bolts were tight and noticed this guy backed out a bit.
All of the bolts in the space frame that thread into a rivnut were loose enough that I felt the need to come let you all know.

Stopped by SP to get new flange for my 2nd gen yesterday. Turns out that there is no new version, so miscommunication between us. I know someone warned me that that would be the case. Spencer did use some foam tape to seal it up. I'm not thrilled with it, bu not a huge deal.

I showed him my mounting brackets and how they are coming loose. No news on that front, but he assured me that they are working on a redesign and would get it out to people within the next 6 weeks or so, so same as what they communicated by email.

Kind of off the SP topic, but here's how I set up my second battery in the cubby behind the rear seats. I attached the tie down straps with rivnuts like was recommended. It's been working great and we've been running a Dometic fridge and lights. I haven't hooked any solar up yet.

I'm second guessing the whole idea of putting it back there and debating if I want to rip it out and move it to the bed. Maybe I haven't tied it down securely enough and it would be a heavy projectile in an accident. Also, maybe my wiring job isn't good enough and it will all catch on fire. When I came up with this plan, I didn't have a carseat back there. Does anyone have any thoughts?IMG_1406.jpg

I would love to have my battery there but I have an AGM battery until it kicks the bucket. I’ve redesigned my battery box 4 times and just ended up making a wood box yesterday and I should have kept it simple from the get go.

Your wiring looks way nicer than mine, but there’s something to be said about the peace of mind that comes with having it in the bed of the truck and not in the cab.

If it’s in the cab you might catch an issue way faster though (I.e. odor etc)

Thanks, that's sort of what I was thinking of switching it to. I'm not so great at making things out of wood as you. I was probably going to use some kind of plastic box.

Yes, when we camping last time, I sat back there so I could catch any issue. Not a long term solution though.

You can totally do it. That’s like the second thing I’ve ever made of of wood. Skill saw, a level and 2 clamps is all I had to work with and then I borrowed a router from a friend to clean up the edges. I impressed myself.

Double wide 50" x 78". ExPed Megamat Duo is 77.6" x 52", so it's tight on the sides, but I haven't had any real issues.

Its been a quiet few days in this thread, hitting F5 every morning, thought I'd share some good news.
Received the official "It's time to schedule your install!" email, so excited.
Started this journey in Jan, now booked for mid-Oct.
Can't wait to see what kind of a nugget this camper turns out to be.

As someone who ordered mine in December with a promise date of 7/1 this is frustrating to hear. Granted mine is for an f-150 but I was told they didn’t even begin design of the f-150 model until a few months ago…

    enjoy yours!

That’s odd. Spencer has an F150 and his green camper was on his truck when I picked mine up in December.
