Looking to see if anyone has had this issue.

This has happened about 5 times where the truck will have trouble starting and if it does then it will have issues accelerating and eventually throw a code. This last time it gave me a high transmission low fluid error. I have also gotten fuel rail system pressure low error before that.

I have taken it to the dealership after each event but when they put it on the computer no check engine codes come up in the history. It shows the tech that there has never been a check engine light! Because of this they can’t replicate the issue and are unable to do anything else.

Just looking for any similar stories or potential ideas for what may be causing the issue.

Wow. You show them that image and they claim it didn’t happen? Maybe submit warranty claim for why codes are not being saved in your ECU ? I have a scanguage and that can show the temp so you can know if that is indeed the problem

Yes image and multiple videos. First the tech claimed I must have unhooked the battery. Insured them that this what not the case. Then the tech claimed I must be using an after market product and taking it off before I come in lol. Also not the case. I submitted everything to corporate as well but hasn’t been much help.

I heard that a bad cam position sensor could give you warnings like that.

Contact Toyota to get them involved . Pretty sure the dealer will help you then . Best of luck .

Sounds similar to the problem I had. I’ve got a long thread on this forum about my nightmare with a loose wire to the fuel pump in the fuse box. Brand new 2020 Tacoma was in the shop four times in the first three months before they found the problem. Low fuel rail pressure was one of the codes. Like you, I got the same “transmission temp” alarm when it stalled out but not sure why? It’s a long shot, but maybe lift the fuse box cover and push down on the wires going into the box? Good luck with that.

I would also look into the lemon law. If you are documenting each trip to the dealer and they are stating that no codes are found. You might have a short in the system that is resetting the computer. Either way i would advise corp and the dealer you will look into legal counsel. Hopefully it will light a fire under them to get this sorted.

At least in my case they re-soldered the fuel pump wire in the fuse box. No problems since then. Still own it three years later…

It says ignition on. If the engine is started and running those warning lights come on and cycle for a test. At least from my understanding

Here we go another one.... What year is your Taco? Man good old 4.0L should have been kept in Tacos.

BTW that dealer seems to suck. Why won't you just contact Toyota right away? They like to have these issues reported, so they can prevent this stuff in the future
