How many keys did you get?

Just saw this thread for the first time. Back on 2 April 21 I got the one key story - so sounds like I need to get all up in their bidness. Beaches better have my key!

 

Mine came with 2. But mine are an actual key.

I got two fobs and one valet key. What do you guys do with your valet key? Also, what is the purpose of the small key when most guys are swapping to the meso/ajt which doesn’t hold the key inside?

 

Just an FYI. I finally got my second key this week. Been waiting since I took delivery of my truck back in March. I did have to go thru the service department to get it. Once you ask them about the 2nd key, they will pull up your truck by the VIN to verify and cut you a key onsite. Took about an hour to get my key.

 

When I took delivery of my truck, I received a key/fob and a utility key which was the same as the key/fob minus the fob part. That key did everything except remote lock the doors due to not having the fob built in to it. I pretty much keep that utility key as a spare now just in case something happens to one of my key/fobs.

 

You can use the small key to lock your glove box in the event you are valet parking — an advantage those of us with manual transmissions and the H key do not have.

 

We just bought our truck brand new, zero miles and got 2 fobs and the valet/physical key.

 

I got 2 fobs and a valet key with my 2018.

 

I picked up my new 2021 TRD off road on Aug. 21st came with 2 fobs and valet key.

 

Got the same message on mine yesterday.

 

Just happened up on this myself looking up any recall info.
Thought they were supposed to notify us.

 

I went to schedule my 5k service was told there was a recall for the extra key, also got the message on my truck screen as well.

 

I work at a Porsche Dealership and we are receiving cars from transport with only 1 key. There is a shortage. The vehicle comes with an "open recall/campaign" to provide the second key when they become available. So yes best route to take is to go through the service department and see if they would write a repair order to begin the order process, if they haven't already.
