Where I work, they prey on companies going under.

Buy them out, all their designs and plans. Perfect them or just go forward making them after buying the company, under a different name.

It is how they have gotten almost every single item they manufacture here.

 

Yep and the buyer keeps their name confidential to avoid dealing with refunds and customer support issues. , MobTown went from build-to-order to the traditional business model, where they built parts on projected demand, then listed them for sale when in stock. It protected them against all the wild material price and shipping cost fluctuations, but increased risk in other ways. Imagine investing $10k building 10 bumpers, but can't sell them because a few pieces like poly bushings or latches are backordered for two months. Probably got into a cash crunch.

And you meant "prey", right? "Pray" is what you did after plugging in PC peripherals in the '90s.

I really love high performance and engine sounds so I bought a taco.
