    Technically it wasn’t “my” coffee, as it was purchased with company funds and not my own, so I’m not that upset; I was sent to Walmart with a company credit card to get various items for the break room, and I was given permission to buy K-cups of my choice. This is the coffee in question, Donut Shop Caramel Apple Pie…

    There were 24 K-cups in there, and I’m pretty sure I only had like 3!

    The water company was here this morning to read the meter and little did l know the guy didn't put the big cover back down flush. I came over it full speed on the lawnmower and the mower deck hit straight on, went completely airborne over it and the pins holding the deck sheared off. Was shaken up a little and super pissed at the same time.

    Progress on the enclave of new homes around the corner from my neighborhood; No HVAC in this one yet, but it actually looks like a house now!

    They started on this one last, so that’s it’s so far behind the other six (three have been completed and two have been moved into)…

    Good God do I hate Pennsylvania’s inspections!

    I have had my truck since September 2009 and since the dealer my dad bought it from was in Pennsylvania so it came with stickers that were good through October 2010 (the earliest you can get a vehicle with October stickers inspected is August); I have my had my truck almost TWELVE YEARS, and it’s NEVER failed safety or emissions? Why? Well, vehicles today are built a lot better and don’t pollute like old ones do, and I also take care of my shit. My mechanic tells me that I take such good care of my truck that I put many of his customers with BMWs and other luxury vehicles to shame…

    My truck is technically in violation of the PennDOT motor vehicle code because it has aftermarket foglights that don’t shut off automatically when the high-beams are turned on…

    I say, who gives a shit?!?!

    :brianr:

    My mechanic, who installed the foglights for me, agrees with me! I see plenty of older vehicles with factory (or at least dealer-installed) foglights that operate independently of the high-beams and don’t turn off when the brights are turned on…

    Also, having foglights and high-beams that can be operated simultaneously comes in very handy sometimes, especially when I’m on deserted and poorly marked rural roads with no street lights; I do DoorDash on the side, and using both the brights and the high-beams simultaneous works great when a customer forgets to turn on their porch light!

    And now we come to the case of my friend Doug’s 2011 Nissan Altima; The car has its share of dents and dings, and well over 120K miles on the clock, but it runs and drives great and has never left Doug stranded or failed a PA inspection in the decade since his parents bought it new.

    *I DO NOT trust the CVTs in Nissans, but that is a story for another day (or at least another post) and the one in Doug’s car seems to be holding up fine*

    Doug had a minor accident when he scraped a brick wall in a narrow parking lot earlier this summer, resulting in the damage you see in the pictures below…

    Doug normally gets the car inspected at O’Neil Nissan in Warminster, Pennsylvania (where his parents bought the car new); However, the end of August was fast approaching and O’Neil was swamped, so he brought it to Fred Beans Nissan in Doylestown, Pennsylvania…

    The car passed emissions with flying colors, but failed the safety inspection because the headlight lens was broken (headlight still works); If the brakes are worn out, the tires are bald, or the vehicle has severe rust I can understand. However, Pennsylvania will fail an otherwise perfectly maintained car because the windshield wipers are worn out!

    @Speedytech7

    My friend and fellow Aspie, Jeff, is an IT wizard (for lack of a better term)…

    Back in July, I thought my Seagate 2TB external hard drive was toast; Jeff determined that some microchip had gone bad and made my year by getting it running again and thus saving YEARS of irreplaceable photos (family photos and car show photos). He had this 750GB Seagate lying around and he didn’t need it anymore, so he gave it to me; I don’t really know much about working on hard drives so put it in this nifty clear case and wiped it for me. The only cost to me for any of this work (including getting my 2GB Seagate operational again earlier this summer) was the cost of two hard drive casings that cost me like $25 total on Amazon!
