In my discussions with Red Bullet, I've learned that:

    1. Red Bullet and Quantum Solenoid are direct competitors reselling nearly identical products.

    2. Red Bullet is very skeptical with the dyno chart posted by Quantum for the 1GRFE solenoid and questions the credibility of said dyno chart.

I, too, did/do not believe the validity of that dyno chart which prompted the need to amatuerishly test this ourselves with a street driven butt-dyno impression, backed by before/after dyno pulls at a 3rd party. All which have been graciously completed by @12TRDTacoma and partially financed by the guys that donated.

I tend to think the testing that we are doing...although not scientific, has more validity than what Quantum posted up.

Funny enough Quantum just got back to me via email and they were like oh we are sorry for getting back to you so late we were prepping for SEMA and bla bla bla and we have been making the solenoids for the 1GR for 2 years now. This and that.

They dropped the ball on getting back to me so now Red Bullet earns all the business. :)

tell them to send you some, and I'm sure we can figure out how to crowd source a good back to back to back test between them and red bullet, and put this to rest for good. Perhaps a N/A truck with manual transmission, which wouldn't suffer from heat soak the same on multiple runs as a blower and is locked in a gear for the duration...

Justin the HPTune guy would be an ideal person to do some testing like that, with our money funding it.... but I think he is about to move, and as such probably doesn't have time or dyno shop friends..

Although gains with a blower is fun to understand, and I'm sure there are many on here that have blowers I think the gains on a NA platform would be more telling about what is actually going on.

Knowing that, and knowing solenoids wear out eventually, I’d like to see a dyno comparison between old, used ones and a brand-new set.

No updates on data logs folks, I'm sorry. I have been running into some issues that have left me in bed once again for the last few days so needless to say there has been no drive time behind the wheel on my truck and I don't know when they will let up.

Had a lengthy video chat with Red Bullet last night. Told him we had 30-40x interested parties.

Pricing for this initial GB should be available by the end of the week.

    Thank you for your patience.

I SOOOOOOO wish we could get a manual transmission truck on the dyno with new OEM stock, red bullet, and the Quantum solenoids back to back to back. I'd pay substantially to help get that data. I've looked and looked and tried to derive justification for the dyno graphs we see, and I can't get behind the peak power numbers that were quoted, they seem to be on a non-reproduceable spike in a bad dyno run. I just can't wrap my mind around how these solenoids can make more peak power. It is somewhat understandable if they could bring about cam timing change sooner once commanded... but in the end they are controlled by the computer, which we are not messing with at all yet right? Full command should be the same between one solenoid to the next - right?, or are we saying aftermarket solenoids can move the cam timing more/further than OEM? What would be good is to see on the dyno when (in the rpm range) the impacts of the solenoids are noticeable, which would tell us something about how/when the intake cam timing is being changed and where/how we might expect to see or feel any gains without it being a placebo effect of "it feels better"..

All that being said, I may sign up for a set of these, given the pricing I recall hearing about for this group buy is in the noise compared to overall spending on things lately... :)

I feel the Toyota corp is bunch of people on the high horses do whatever minimum to make money.

Now what I mean by that is, they don't put optimum parts in there....how do I say this. In middle class vehicles. And even some of there well off customers Riggs.

They put what works, not performance parts.
Anything to help make the engine not so choked has got to be better I would think.

I have a manual but I nor have the time or money to do what you would like too do above. But I agree, I would like to see as well.

I think all our trucks should come turbocharged stock.:D but maybe that's just me.
