3rd Gen tailgate mat question

    I put a rubber tailgate mat on my 2021 Tacoma. After install I notice there is a gap of abpout 1/4 inch and the tailgate is not closing tight. I can't open it so it is latching correctly but there is a gap and the tailgate moves freely about 1/4 inch. Any ideas/

    Some aftermarket tailgate inner hatch panels cause the tailgate not to close properly because they make things too thick at the rubber bumper that is on the bed side of the truck. You might want to look and see if that is the problem. If you need a picture of the bumper I'm talking about let me know.
