Thanks! And I agree! Ko2’s are just so aesthetically aggressive in the best way. I thought it would be a hard ride but I really think the firmness of the tire improved the ride. I just got a KDMAX tune to help with the extra weight. Drives like a dream now.

Mine are E rated and it is definitely a harsher ride than stock even on the same diameter wheels. The only thing I don't love about the KO2 is the wet performance. I feel like they break traction too easy on roundabouts compared to a street tire. Maybe that's just normal for All-Terrain tires though.

For sure, these are my first set of ko2’s. I’ve heard about the wet performance but my buddy has em and we go through the snow no problem. Maybe it’s not the best wet performance but ignorance is bliss for the next 30k or so miles!! I’m a fan of Falkens but I just love the ko2 look. My C loads feel great honestly, maybe something to check out for your next set. We’ll see when it rains if my opinion changes. :notsure:

I went the tall skinny route, instant additional ground clearance.
255/85/16 cooper at maxx E rated......since they are tall n skinny I think that you'd want E rated to reduce body roll.

I'm on the fence about them, they look cool and perform well off road but on windy roads they definitely reduced the handling compared to the stock tires.
The only in this size BFG were the MTs and I heard that they are soft and wear quickly.

I’ve gotten used to them and might go this size again if I haven't done a lift and larger tires/different rims.

265/75/16's will be about 1" taller, 3/4" wider and is as big as you can go without modifying the truck. I've been using that size for years and like that size.

For most people a standard load or P rated tire is fine, but many of the larger sizes and especially more aggressive tires are only available in an LT tire. If going LT might as well go with E rated tires. The C and D rated LT tires just cost more without being as tough. The ONLY advantage of an E rated tire on a Tacoma is a tougher tire for harsh off road conditions. Standard or P rated tires as well as C and D rated tires are more susceptible to damage from rocks and other trail debris. Even the lightest duty tire will carry more weight than a Tacoma is rated for.

The ride will be more firm with an E rated tire, but if you don't overinflate them most are tolerable. Most of the time the same PSI that you'd nomally use with factory tires works with a Tacoma.

If you go bigger than 265/75/16 you'll see fuel mileage and performance drop. Especially if you go with wider tires and more aggressive tires.

Thanks, it’s a mixed bag though!
I suggest if one goes the 255/85 to get the e rated. I feel that the stiffer sidewall so more stable on the street for dd use.

How does an E rated tire affect body roll?

I have 265/75/16. I upgraded from a 17 inch wheel to a 16 inch wheel so I can have more sidewall but keep a similar size tire.

They look bigger in pics though

    Wildpeaks 265/75 16.
Stock suspension on my SR5 and doesn't rub on anything.
Really great in the rain lately.
I live on miles of gravel and they don't hold rocks to throw out later on pavement.
OEM mudflaps and running boards...it's exactly as I wanted.
Best of luck with whatever you get - researching and hunting down the extra 'stuff' is easy and fun with these trucks. My truck!.jpg

There are overall more plies so the tire is stiffer and that will be more stable than a lower ply c rated tire.

    The downside is they’re heavier.

I would have bought the k02s if they came with the 3 peak snow designation. Settled on Duratracs for for that reason, and the best rain rating.

2” lift. Spidertraxx 1.25” spacers gave me enough offset to clear the UCA with the stock OR wheels.

I was running 265/75r16 KO2 at stock height and stock OR wheels with no issue.
