Hey all, just posting an update now that I picked up my truck. I hope these details can provide some insight and help some folks out.

Here was the timeline for my truck:

    Build date: 7/27
    Deposit placed: 8/4
    Port ETA: 8/24
    Delivery ETA: 8/30
    Actual delivery: 9/1

I had the temp VIN from the dealer website which stopped working early August. After that, they weren't able to get me the real VIN until late August for whatever reason.

I got a TRD Off-road DCSB with a manual transmission. The truck was built in Mexico and this was in the Southeast Toyota region.

Leaving to pick mine up in 20 minutes. The original order was around July 20th and the estimated arrival was mid/end of September. They had another one pop up in the system about a week ago that was ahead of my original order. I switched my deposit and the truck arrived yesterday and I am picking it up today.

Out with the "old" in with the new.

Not sure how long I'll be able to handle stock height after having the SR5 sitting higher.

    Congrats!

    I feel the struggle.
I spend a few days putting on some sproingers on the 2014 I had been in just as I handed it off to my son.
I'm more than a little jealous of it being taller than my truck.

The SR5 only had ~2.5" between taller tire sidewall and suspension but now I feel like I'm sitting down & not up into it like the old one.

Y’all are funny, I’ve got this for a “tall truck” 2ACD17FB-8A5D-4F52-A6B1-2BBAC9BEE0D4.jpg sitting on 35’s
And this for a mini truck68A808B3-0193-4662-844D-228E7FD1B110.jpg
    Sitting on some 1.9’s
My Tacoma is just going to be a daily driver, most likely staying almost 100% stock.

This sounds like the way to do it. Kind of off topic but when you order are you just doing it straight from Toyota with no dealer involvement? Are they marking the trucks up over MSRP like the dealers right now? Do you finance or have to pay cash when it’s direct like this?

My ETA is the same - wonder if our trucks are on the same train? I ordered from the Squamish dealer.

No, there’s some really confusing things people don’t understand. Everything goes through a dealer. There is no ordering a truck, just making a request to try and get one. If your read back some it’s explained more in depth back on page 104. There is always a middle man.
