Looking to replace the speaker on my 6505+ combo with a Celestial vintage 30 or Stewmacs equivalent.

I guess it should bring up the mids and highs. A good thing as I play more than just metal.

No. When I thought about swapping the speakers in my Marshall cab, I researched for a while and within a week, my Mesa cab came home

    Right on.

    It's like a hundred bucks for a new speaker. It's a 1x12, so just a cheap project.

Are they just connectors or need to solder?

Just asking because I don’t know. Never done a speaker swap*

    would a 2x12 or 4x12 be harder?
    Edit: More difficult*

yes... anything with multiple speakers requires to math out the impedence. like my 4x12 is 16ohm speakers wired series/ parallel to get it to 8ohms total.

for a 1x12, just buy the same ohm rating as the speaker that's already in there (probably 16 or 8 ohms).

    Nothing. My Mesa is great.
Was just a little curious because at one point I was looking into this with my Marshall 4x12 cabinet before I got my Mesa.

basically for using multiple cabs... if you have 2 cabs rated at 8 ohms, running them together would essentially halve their rating and you would run them at 4 ohms.
i'm not that great at explaining it but i remember by matching your amp to whatever your cab (or internal speaker is at) and when running two cabs, divide the cab's ohmage by 2 and use that output. cabs have to match too or else it gets dicey. use 2 8ohm cabs or 2 16ohm cabs. most guitar amps won't support anything lower than 4.

That's one thing I love about my Eleven Rack.
    I can choose
    cab size
    speaker size
    speaker brand.
    ohms/watts and voltage.
and even the placement of the mic on the speaker or DI.

    Also individual heads.
plexi to supro and everything inbetween.
