Can you replace shackles with out taking the leafs out?

So I have archive shackles that I've been meaning to put on since I put on Hamer hangers, can I just ubolt the shackles side and lower it enough to replace or do I have to remove the leafs?

The tricky part is getting out the bolt that connects the shackle to the leaf. Reason being the hanger gets in the way when you try and back it out.

If you unbolt your lower shock mounts and keep an eye on your brake lines, the axle will drop enough for the shackle to go flat. Once it does, you have room to back that bolt out. Make sure it goes back in the same orientation otherwise the bolt will hit the hanger.

 

Thanks I have extended brake lines by 4 inches extra so hopefully that'll be enough
