Everything is relative. What did he pay for his new truck? Bet the dealer got their pound of flesh.

Kind of like housing right now with everyone ranting & raving about how much they sold their house for, yet turn around and go pay the same inflated price for their new home.

    What's not to get?

-It's Carvana. They buy your truck for a too high price. Then price it even higher to try re-selling and flip. "Because COVID"
-Everyone thinks post-facelift 2nd gen is worth a lot more because it's uglier and has deteriorating foam secondary air injection
"It's newer" when it's the same truck. "It has less miles" when miles mean nothing to these trucks when maintained
-You can ignore it. Already got a Tacoma. Ignore it.

Enjoy the fact that your truck (if you have one) is worth more simply because it starts every time you turn the key as opposed to idiots with BMW's limited to parking lots only whose vehicles fail to start often and cost thousands to fix with specific training and special tools that most people do not have

A $50k BMW is worth $5k because to make it run you need to put $45k into it
most people knew that 15 years ago
    It is called planned obsolescence
they do not have the image of cheap reliability, and do not want to
the vehicle is made on purpose to fall apart out of warranty to force you into buying the newer one that is "improved" every so often to support their sales business

Yup, only way it would make sense for me to sell my house is to move out of this region where prices are much cheaper..I have a small house but it's enough for my needs and my needs are not changing.

Knock 100k off that price, I'd go 75k all those mods even though they are tasteful mods add no monetary value to the car.

Private party value according to KBB averages $90k. I seriously doubt, even if ad ons were considered, that there are $75k worth of add ons.

Are FJ’s really that desirable? I am not familiar with them. I remember going to an auto show in Ft Lauderdale long ago before they hit the showroom and looking at them. I really liked them, but wife wanted luxury. I see on the forums now nothing but good things. Makes me want to find one.
