I hauled 1,883 lbs of top soil in my 18 Taco DCSB V6 Auto. Yeah it was squatted really bad, but I had full control of my steering. Drove roughly 13 miles home with the wife and three kids. I could tell it was in the bed, but it was nothing to to cry about and it got the job done. Don’t have a picture though.

Now here's a man who knows how to use his truck, as a truck.

How many of our dear brethren here, would faint if the back of their truck bed got dirty like this?

Not the wisest decisions I've ever made, but I did haul 2100 lbs. of steel bars with a Leer cap about 20 miles and twice I hauled stones mostly filling my bed, with about 4, 5-gallon buckets filled in the access cab too about 100 miles total.

You have got to love the composite bed when removing stones from the bed. I saw an AD on Craigslist free section that the homeowner needed to remove stones from a drainage ditch (they are like 3 times larger than the stones in your bed), so I loaded as many as I could on the first 100-mile round trip, but when I got home I realize I needed one more bed load and was lucky enough the homeowner let my take another load. That composite bed made it so easy and wondered how scratched up the bed would have been if it was a regular metal bed?

I don't know about anyone else, watching that beautiful Toyota Hilux being destroyed most likely for YouTube views, seemed criminal to me and sacrilegious (even the Taliban aren't that mean). :( :angrygirl:

Lots of people seem to have that reaction. My reaction is that he is taken what I used to do in my country up bringing to the nth level and I find it hilarious.

Maybe it's also because a Toyota Hilux is so rare and sought after in this county that members here covet them too much to do that.

We are selling our weekend house in the country so I have been moving things from there back up to our main house. On the way home today I had about 900lbs in the bed. The load was evenly distributed from the front of the bed almost back to the tailgate.

The truck squatted a little in the back but it was not bad at all. It handled the load quite well and it didn't bottom out once. You could definitely tell there was a load on the truck though. This was the first time I had a heavy load in the bed and I was impressed how well it handled it.

I hauled my Honda 300ex in my Taco for about 200 miles, probably 50 of those on fire roads.

For heavier, household stuff or dump runs I'm pretty quick to just go rent a trailer for a couple of hours. I think this one was ~$40 for an afternoon from a local rental yard. I probably had 500 LBS of smashed furniture and household goods in it.

All I will say is people don’t give leaf springs enough credit. In college I had a Mitsubishi mighty max. (Anyone even heard of them?) No a/c and crank windows.

On a fraternity outing I had to drive everyone back to the house in the bed. At least 8 dudes 175 lbs. I swear my front wheels were barely touching. I would turn the wheel and we would barely make the turn. Those springs and frame can handle a lot.

Beside bed being trashed, usually the springs and frame make it ok.

Since I posted earlier I figured I should share I finally picked it up! with the jacks I believe it should be around 1100+ pounds. It actually sets just about perfect with my Deaver Expedition Stage 3 leaf pack. Couldn't be happier with that. It's definitely tippier feeling when swerving around, but I literally had to swerve back and forth on purpose to feel that way. I might think about doing a rear sway bar down the road a bit. But I'll wait to throw money at it.

Here's a plug for the thread I started for the Scout Yoho if anyone is interested. Many more pics and such to come :)
