    Greetings all,

    I have a 2021 SR5 with a TRD Lift Kit (2" front + 1" back) and I just purchased x4 T4R Pro Wheels (ptr203-5110-bk). They are 17x7 with +4 offset

I am certain that I want BFG KO2's but I am not opposed to wildpeaks either. What size BFG KO2 can I fit on my truck without any risk of rubbing? Most ppl seem to say 265/70/17 will fit with no rub, but what about 265/75/17? Or 275/70/17?

I am leaning 265/70/17 as the safest option, and it also comes in a C rating which is a big plus. But I don't wanna drop 1k on tires and have any regrets too

My truck is still rocking the stockers 245/75/16 in picture

    I asked a tyremaker in Holland ( where I live) .
And with their info, I made my own rimmwidth calculator, is what European ETRTO gives , but also TRA I think.
Rounding you have to do yourselves.

    Aspect ratio 80 /75/70
    Smallest tirewidth 209.2mm Section width
    Widest tirewidth 273.5mm

    Aspect ratio 65/60/55/50
    Smallest tirewidth 197.6mm
    Widest tirewidth 254mm

    Ideal tirewidth
    AR 80/75 254 mm say 255mm
    AR 70/65/60 237.1mm say 235mm
    AR 55/50 219.5mm so 215 and 225 ideal .
    Example 225/55 R 17 is ideal , but also
    255/75R17 if they exist.
Further overall radius of tire must be within limits the same as OEM, so speed is given the same.

Use this if you find a sise, to see if its allowed.

    265 70 17 will fit no problem

275 70 17 is a questionable one. You might get away with it if you have upper control arm with high caster

285 most likely needs a cmc. And I have the same rims as you and want to go to 285 next…..but im reading with some aftermarket uca the tire will rub with the offset that we have. Will have to run spacers, which I don’t want to….im looking at buying jba uca

I don't know much about uca's yet, this is my first tacoma and I'm making decisions based on feedback I've read on this forum. Trying my best to get multiple sources on questions of mine before I make decisions that impact my wallet lol.

As I stated,, I do have a trd lift on it with 2in front 1in back. I also went ahead and paid discount tire $25 to order and hold some 275/70/17 falken wildpeaks for me so they can mount and test them to make sure they fit with the sema wheels. If for some reason they don't work out, I guess I either need to look into UCA upgrades or settle on the smaller tire size (which I mean common... no... lol). I also really don't wanna run spacers if I don't have to.

I guess I'll just keep this thread update over the next couple weeks with my findings on the wildpeaks whenever they get here

I'm In the same shoes. I ordered a 2021 TRD sport which won't be here until Oct. I'm having the TRD lift kit and TRD exhaust installed so I've been looking to see what size tire I can install. I also have been going back and forth between the BFG Ko2 and the Falken Wildpeaks although I think I'm going more for the Wildpeaks for the more aggressive look, I think and slightly better on snow and ice. I'd be interested in what you find out as far as tire size. Right now I'm thinking 265/70r17 but would go larger as long as I don't have to trim. I don't really do off roading so I maybe able to get away with something larger. I have TRD wheels coming in from another dealer that they had on sale for $299 each. Canadian pricing lol
Let us know what you find out

The UCA upgrade is to correct caster adjustment, and has little to do with the tire selection.

With the lift the geometry exceeds what the adjustment range in the lower control arm will allow. The geometry of the UCA is fixed. After market UCA, do a couple of thing,. Their ballpoint choice may allow greater range of movement allowing more articulation. Their design overall in regards to the position of the BJ gives you more castor. .

With the stock UCA as you add lift, you will loose castor, and end up with bump steering, where the slightest bump you hit will want to steer the truck, andnyou will notice greater attention required to keeping the truck in a straight line.

Simplest comparison, positive caster allowed you to ride a bicycle hands free.

I just got ko2 (C Load) 265/70/17's on a stock truck while I wait for my suspension to come in. No rub anywhere even at full lock/reverse/ or driveways. So you'll be fine. Not too loud and I think they help with body roll etc.. Happy with them for sure.

265/70/17 I know will fit. My buddy has them on his truck with sema wheels. I am looking to see if there are any issues with 275/70/17

I mean, I was about to 3" lift and 285's but last minute backed out since I had to face reality that my daily driver doesn't need it. So I went 265/70/17 C load k02's and I can honestly feel the difference in weight in braking and taking off. I know the 275's are mostly E-load right? You'll notice that weight, not sure if that matters to you. My 265's don't look too small and I don't regret it so far. Still looks pretty mean.

The falkens I ordered are heavy c rated tires. I didn't really want the 275/70/17 e rated bfg ko2s.

Just waiting for discount tire to tell me when they arrive at this point so they can mount them to see if they work. I haven't paid for them yet, so my fall back is 265/70/17. But based on what ppl are saying in various threads, 275/70/17 should fit. I didn't wanna go 285 route because I didn't want to do cmc and new ucas

Yeah I was really looking into 275's too. Hope it works out for you man! I'd suggest looking into a tune after putting the new wheels on if you really notice the weight. I just did the KDMAX tune and it's a gamechanger with the wheel weight. Good luck!

I didn't even know you could get a tune like that until I came to this forum. Definitely something on my to do list if this all pans out!

What kind of tune is that ? Is it a chip that you need to get done somewhere?

It took like 20 minutes. I’m not entirely sure but they basically flash your ecu with their tune. There’s a few out there like ovtune, kdmax, etc… I read really good reviews of the kdmax tune and the truck drives so much better now. Throttle response is so much better and the power feels more even through the rpm’s. Search for this thread, they linked me up with my local tuner. You’ll see everyone’s good praises in the thread too!

I think I am gonna try the Toyo AT III I want the 3 peak snow rating and they are a good bit lighter than the bfg in the 235 85 16 they are about 5 lbs lighter plus they offer the 500 mile trial do if I don't like them I can try again.

The BF ko2 have the 3 peak snow rating too. The Toyo are definitely lighter and less expensive then the BFG here in canada at least. I've been comparing the Toyo, BF ko2 and Falken
