PlastiDip fender flares to matte black. Applied several coats to increase durability. Lines were perfect after peeling off the overage. I like the look of the OR and Pro flares so this was my fix.

The top plate came with the tow hook and the holes were threaded, the middle plate I had made at a local machine shop as a spacer. If you’re looking for a suggestion get the spacer made up and just use a thick washer and a nut to fasten the bolts. I cut away some of the plastic which really wasn’t that difficult there was a bolt through the plastic which was removed. The hole was the correct diameter for the bolts I used so only one additional hole for each hook had to be drilled in the frame. The whole process was really quite simple so don’t get discouraged. I used 10.9 grade bolts as the threaded holes were metric. If you’re using SAE bolts use grade 8

Has anyone found a crystal overlay that actually works for the factory stereo? I’ve seen a few on Amazon, but the feedback is poor. Doesn’t lay flat, air bubbles that never go away and so on. Just looking to keep the dust scratches to a minimum.

Nitro 5.29, Eaton Front Locker, Bilstein 6112 & 5160, RXT leaf pack, Cooper 33’s, Magnuson, CSF Radiator. Stay Tuned.
With 5.29’s and a Magnuson on the way, I wanted to let things breath a bit better.

I spoke with the techies at Magnuson and the suggested simply a freer breathing muffler. Going to a 3” exhaust wouldn’t add much, in fact, it would shift some of the torque curve higher in the rpm band where I don’t want it.

Don’t shoot me if you don’t agree, that’s what they said.

So I got a Magnaflow at the suggestion of a local shop and I like it. Also, this is heavier than normal acceleration but in no way smashed to the floor. From seat of the pants I think it also woke up the truck a bit. The “grunt” is gone on the highway by fourth- fifth gear so it’s great for when I tow.

Just an idea, but with all the blackouts I see here along with the custom TRD decals, I am rather surprised no one here has developed a “Black Rain” TRD decal with that fellow I read about years back in the forum, cowboy..
I know is I did some of the things I see here that are common, I would at least want to separate myself a bit.
‘Black Rain” with a central storm cloud (centered, reverse image contrast perhaps from the lettering) with one lightning bolt, along with the TRD emblem for the rear fenders.
I’m thinking a flat black with contrasting grey for a subtle pop.
It would be a spin off of the TRD image with the mountains in the back drop.
I am pretty sure that is what I would want on my 19 TRD crew if I went blackout..
