I believe the low beam is fused at 10amps which matches your picture of the fuse cover. So you can swap the add a fuse to INJ and move the INJ 10 amp to the low beam. Assuming that is where you have it right now.

note it only fits one way on INJ due to space constraints.

Watch the lights after engine shut off on that 4 banger. Let us know what you see. It could take a few hours to manifest.

 

I’ll set up a camera in my garage. What exactly am I looking for and is it harmful?

 

The added lights turning ON when the vehicle does the leak detection pump cycle. Not harmful, might be annoying.

 

Ok they just came on for one minute and turned off. Not very annoying to me honestly. I’ll keep it as is. Got it on video but can’t upload to the post

 

Just be ready for someone to call you about the lights left on or turning on at night

 

Update: after several weeks of monitoring the lights using my home security camera I’ve noticed how it works. The lights will turn on only after taking the truck for a drive. For most short in town drives the lights will come on one or two times after being parked. Usually after about an hour and then maybe again after several hours. They only turn on for one minute and it doesn’t affect battery charge as far as I notice. For longer drives they might come on 4-5 times for one minute intervals several hours after parking but not really a big deal at all, especially since I park at home in my garage most times

 

so there’s no other fuse other than the INJ to get the raptor lights to turn on upon ignition?

 

have you found a fix for this?

 

Depending on what Taco version you have , there's a fella here that assembles a solution for a fee.

I have a 2021 SR.

I got my raptor lights from Tacoma Lifestyle and the harness came with a 15amp fuse.

 

This thread has relieved my fears... taking trash out last night and realize my grill lights were on... now I have an explanation as to why. I will have to move my fuse over to the INJ fuse instead.

 

It doesn't draw anything crazy I think .02 or .2 but still

 

More just to quell the wife and/or neighbors coming and saying "you left your lights on". Just a piece of mind thing, not concerned with the battery draw per se.

 

For anyone with a TRD trim, I have halogen and LED T harnesses as well as an OEM LED conversion harness with grille light options.

Add-a-fuse gets no love from FBC.

 

Is the add a fuse necessary? Or are we able to just tie a line directly in? (Real question)
