Nice! I emailed them about a HC for the 3rd gens, sounds like it's "on the way", which is cool. Their stuff looks nice and pretty light, which is appealing.

That skid is definitely....interesting. Idk, it's been a while since I did any engineering, but I would have figured you'd want the shallowest angle available to redirect any impact/push the truck over shit.

I’m a big fan of the tucked tube bumper look. Obviously, because that’s what I built lol there are some things I would do differently but I’m happy with it for my first tube project

Really hard to thread inside the welded front plate. I have a Coastal front and just threading my winch bolts was a trial and a half that left me with bruises on my arms.

For sure, and I know the shackles should go as in-line to the frame as possible, I just think it doesn't look great.

That's why we're spending money on these things anyway, right?

Yeah me too, it's just trying to get the winch as tight as possible to make the bumper have a nice smooth transition down to the belly skid.

That's why I got him to add those holes below the winch fairlead hole so you can get a socket straight up to the front winch bolts cuz it was such a pain when we do a lot of them

Yeah I was literally on the verge of cutting the front plate back off and rewelding it later.

Well if any of you gay boys in here are at Windrock this weekend hit me up. So far my wife has driven 22,35,30 yesterday in the truck and not the first bolt has moved one single bit. No crosscheck has budged and truck is handling and driving like a champ.

Still need those inner fender badly. Need more uptravel

Haven’t been to Windrock since winter before CxxxD. 22 was a disaster. So much they were surprised we completed it. The water fall was a slick mess. Near slid off the edge of the mountain there.
    How is it now?

He popped a motor in the v-notch due to oil in the pcv. I was on the second to last ledges and straight rock bouncing the bitch and was at the last one and tcase blew. That was after reverse wheeling the trail dragging someone else through the vnotcb and dragging Jason up to the ledges then truck night of America reunion wheelers came and helped out. We had one of the best rowdiest days. 15 changed a ton since we went. And I had to reseat a tire both beads on mine.

Another 3rd Gen taken by not having a catch can installed. Ugh sad to hear about that.

we wheeled all day with a guy who had the RCLT kit and a kid shoe made his own kit extremely similar to the RCLT kit. The Marlin kit does not have shit for uptravel. However it is pretty and big and beefy. I don’t see an advantage to their system over my JD setup.

All I kept hearing all weekend was “how do you like the kit?” To which I gave everyone the same response, go ask my wife. She’s been wheeling black trails all weekend and I’ve been in the back seat. It rides great on the highway and eats rocks for breakfast lunch and dinner and parties like an 18 year old on spring break

I’m going to come back and run 15 once I get my bed hoops installed so I can lean on them without destroying the cab or bed

How often is it recommended to grease the ball joint zerk on the upper arms,
    and which grease?

I keep my grease gun loaded with Lucas Red N Tacky to use on propshaft U-joints
not sure if it's also good for the Upper Arm joint

We were just discussing this a couple of pages ago if you scroll back a little. A few of us use red n tacky. As far as frequency I just do it once a month since it’s quick and easy

Alright, so I did figure out my steering play issue this weekend. It took adjusting the preload on the slider/guide on the factory rack. For grins, I disassembled one of my old racks to check things out. Here are some pictures below.

You will notice the stock guide uses a thin strip of what looks to be bronze. I am assuming, dirt entering the rack wears it down and creates play. It’s really the only thing that makes sense to me.

So, I talked to my CNC buddy and over the winter he is going to take some oil impregnated bronze round bar and make me a new guide. We are also going to make it 100% greasable and likely remove the spring. In reality, their shouldn’t be the deflection to justify the spring being in there at this point.

The goal is to still boot the rack. But I feel as though this is also going to be a worth while upgrade as well.

I would love to hear some opinions on this!

If you're getting dirt into that part of the rack you're also getting it into the gears on the other side, which I'd worry about more.
