I installed a set of AlphaRex Pro headlights in my 2013 tonight. Everything seems to be working as it should other than the turn signals blinking fast. See the video below for my issue and a bonus light show.

I assume there is a fix for this? Were these supposed to include resistors or something?

Anyone? I read about the re-pin on the 05-11 headlights but that doesn't seem to be my issue. The AlphaRex website is no help at all as they don't even have instructions for 12-15 lights.

When I got my pro series for my 2014 I have to re pin the 3 wire drl/ turn signal harness for it to work correctly

I do have aftermarket LED tail lights, however there was no hyper blink until I installed the headlights. I did not put an LED bulb in the headlights, I used the bulbs that came with them which are H7 halogens.

My DRL’s are working fine, nice and bright. It’s just the signals that are acting up. Is that the issue you had?

I have some resistors on order from Diode Dynamics. We’ll see if they do the trick, but in all the reviews I’ve read about these headlights nobody has ever mentioned needing them.

Also…my DRLs are randomly kicking on for 30 seconds or so while the truck is off and parked. Noticed that today. I’m thinking it’s because I tapped into the fuel pump fuse, but the install video I watched instructed me to connect it there. Where did everyone else tap into?

None, brand new. Looking for ideas
If you contact Alpharex they will send out an in-line module that will fix that issue. I have their headlights. They worked great for almost a year. One day after using my hazards for a extended period I developed a hyper flash on the drivers side. I emailed Alpharex and the sent out a pair of modules they next day. Took about 5 minutes to install and corrected my hyper flash. I have had no problem since.

I’ve called and emailed them, no response yet but they might not be available on weekends. We’ll see what they say. Mine is doing it on both sides.

Which fuse did you tap into? Ever had the second issue I described above?

Never had the other issue. The module tapped into the actual turn signal wires at the brake light. Tonight after work I’ll post a picture of the module and where it’s installed.

The wire from the DRL harness is what I tapped into the fuel pump fuse.

I see you have a third gen, I wonder what the differences are.

Good point. I didn’t think about there being a possible difference in wiring. My DRL is also tapped into the fuel pump fuse with an add a fuse.

I know the lights do a little dance when I lock or unlock the truck, but shut off after 2 minutes.
I did have a ground issue when I first installed them, but that was remedied by locating a better area to attach my ground.

Hmmm you might be onto something with the ground. I wasn’t too happy with where I attached mine. I’m going to move that and see what happens!

    Solid idea. On my way!

They are amazing lights. I can’t wait until I get them to work right :D

AlphaRex emailed me back. Their first question was whether I have aftermarket LED tail lights. After telling them that I do, they said that adding a 10 ohm resistor to only the tail lights should solve the issue. I already have resistors on the way so I’ll give it a try.

I asked them about the DRLs coming on randomly as well and they advised me to tap into the 15A ignition fuse instead of the fuel pump.

Will report back on whether this solved all issues.

Installed a pair of resistors from Diode Dynamics on the rear tail lights today and it fixed the hyper blinking. I also rerouted the fuse wire from the fuel pump fuse under the hood, to the 15A IGN fuse under the dash. Solved the random DRL turn on as well. It's almost like AlphaRex knows what they're talking about. ;)

    Thanks all!

Can you post a how to or a video of how you got it through the firewall and where you plugged into underneath the dash?

Could you post a link to the diodes and where these were installed at the tail lights.

    Are these the ones?

Question...I have the hyperblink in my front passenger headlight and AlphaRex said to use a 100 ohm resistor. Which electrical line for the headlight does the resistor go in? How many amp resistor do I use?
