Usually keep em about 35psi cold.
I dont daily the truck. So, that works for short trips around town during the week. I'f I'm going to be highway for a bit for a trail run. Sometimes I bump em to 40psi.

Slight rub on driver side at full lock while going over a bump. I haven’t trimmed anything.

Alright ladies and gents. My turn to ask the questions!
First thanks so much OP for a very informative post.

I’m now officially moving on to tire purchase! I have my TRD Pro wheels coming in and I’ve settled on pizza cutters. I’d like to run wildpeaks and it looks as though that leaves me one option, 255/80/17s.
The TRD wheels have a 4mm offset. I’m putting 6112/5160s with a leaf pack in the back. Anyone have experience with a setup similar? Curious to know how much cutting or if a CMC will be required.

I’ve read a lot on here and eventually came across anecdotal reports that contradict each other. I am thinking this size will fit without too much issue.

Also curious about the “E” rating; however there’s another thread for that ;)

Little to no trimming. No CMC required. Load rating is personal preference depending on what you plan to with the truck.

255R80 x17 on sema wheels.....3/2 lift and no rubbing....stay with 4mm offset and you should be fine. Worse case is mud flap trim.

I know the tire features will make a big difference but how are you guys doing on highway driving at 80mph?? Does it feel okay? Here in S Georgia and Florida everyone drives 90mph. I try to stay at 75 but sometimes have to go 80. Just curious about that. Thanks!

I am in AZ and with 255/80R17 Wildpeaks, it is a Smooth, quiet ride even at 90. Airing down is recommended off road, but very smooth on the highway. I was concerned when I made the jump and that is why I stayed with an AT instead of going MT.

That's good to hear. I'm really leaning towards 2558017 but I don't want to regret it. Truck is my daily so I haven't seen a MT that would make sense.

I'm coming from 2657516 and don't want to do 2657017. And for sure don't want 285!

Waiting for my new tires to come in, ordered the Cooper STT PROs in a 255/75/17. They should be here next week! Also purchased the TRD PRO 17x7 wheels in gray. I guess I didn't realize these were considered "skinny tires" but I'm not upset about it haha. Main reason I chose this size was due to them being the only load range C that Cooper offers (in this tire) without going down to a 15" wheel.

Anyone have experience with this setup? Mainly interested in how they do in the snow as I live in Michigan

Would rims with these specs work with 255/85/16?

Probably a lot of better choices for a DD snow friendly tire…

Eventually I'll grab a set of snow tires to throw on my stock wheels. But for now these will suffice. I'm almost certain they're better than the stock tires... but I've been wrong before :D
