So I recently started taking a look at my elocker and the locker works just fine and I actually tested it and it does lock the diff but the diff lock light is still blinking as if it doesn’t work. I have heard it could be a Traction Control error. Any ideas?

Blinking for how long? It takes a bit of time and sometimes slight movement for it to engage and disengage.

It just keeps blinking even when the vehicle is moving

Did you push the button again to turn it off?
You don't want to leave it on all the time. I haven't used ours much (4x4's) but they only work in 4lo range and even then I believe speed is limited.

Well I was just testing it because I was trying to figure out why it wasn’t working at first. I turned it off after I was done testing it.

I guess if it were me I would try and cycle it off and on again. I know to get them to unlock I've even had to reverse a little ways.
My Tacoma doesn't have it but both my wifes truck have or have had lockers. I used it last winter in 3 foot of snow.

Check the detent switch on the back of the diff, they are known to go bad. Same style as the reverse switch, push the button in aka locked and switched is closed. Diff is open switch is open.

How did you test that it was working?

Mine started acting up on my old 2011. I removed the switch, worked the plunger up and down with my thumb a few times, put it back in and it worked fine

Toyota will tell you not to use it above 10mph.

I have driven for 5 hours with it on, snow wheeling under 40KM/h all day. No problems.

Mine locked while out on the trail last weekend, but the indicator like did not come on, and it would not unlock. I drove it home on the highway for 10 minutes @ 90KM/h, didnt hurt anything.

Its the tight turns in town that make your tires chirp and are hard on everything. :anonymous:

I am sure the grease inside mine has turned waxy and is causing my issues.

New actuator has to go on, as the awesome winter road salt has sealed mine onto the truck. Like using different metal types is a great idea :annoyed:

We got a tiny hairline crack already in the casing just trying to remove the dickered one. :bananadead: Left in on until this one arrived.
