I cut a tree last year in El Dorado National Forest outside of Kyberz. Permit was $12. Sadly I think the Caldor fire burned that white area. Same with the tree permit areas in Tahoe Basin Management Unit.

I’m in if there are any trees left anywhere.

Everything is closed currently unless you go to Prairie City or willing to go to Nevada like I did this weekend. Once the fires die down, then things should open back up before winter

It was a good time out there. Pretty dead out at Moonrocks for being a holiday weekend. There are also a few Sac area groups that go out. Look up Tacomapowered or 4runnerpowered on IG. They seem to get out often.

I was going to go Saturday but ended up going to Truckee and stayed at the in-laws. Decided to tow my runner up in case I wanted to cruise around and ended up hitting up a buddy that was down to go hit Moon rocks for a few hours.

 

how often you in Truckee? I work at Squaw Valley during the winter. depending on the seasons

 

I'm up all the time now that I'm living back in Norcal. At least 1-2 times a month. I miss riding Squaw. I haven't been there in like 10 years.

 

they started the tram to connect squaw to alpine. they are trying to get it done before the snow flys this winter. Nov 25 is when the want to open.. we start making snow oct 15.

 

That's insane. I worked at Northstar for 4 seasons before I ended up joining the Air Force. Its crazy how much the area has grown.
