Just finished up replacing the head gaskets and while I had it apart installed the retarded exhaust gears, new timing chains and tensioners.

Now its throwing the codes p0333 and p0328 (knock sensors). Im hoping I just forgot to plug something in but what else would cause these codes.

Idle is steady, slight initial stumble when reving but will hold rpm just fine after.

There's the X factor possibility that you munched the wiring harness somewhere. Pull it apart so you can get to it, check it out and then you can freak out if all looks connected and well because then the issue will be deeper then that.

Won't have time to tear it down till next weekend. Hoping it's just a harness issue, I took my time setting the timing but rushed it yesterday when putting everything else back on which included plugging all the connectors back in.

I'm hoping it's just a connector not plugged in issue because munching the harness may be a pain in the rear to fix. Well, find out when you can, let us know.

Try and clear the code and see if it comes back immediately. If it does and the code will not erase with the key on engine off then you know it's a hard code which will not go away. That usually indicates a short or something similar.

Tried clearing the codes twice, once after it first showed and then again after checking all the intake and vacuum connections.

It pops back up right after the engine starts, guess ill find out when I tear into it.

I poked around the harness and found that the plug going into the main harness run does not click in anymore. So it pops right off.

This weekend I'll take the intake off and I'll tape it together and see if holds.

Seems to have worked, taped the connector together, cleared the codes and it stayed off this time.

Last piece of the puzzle is a left over bolt...

I have just finished installing head gaskets and timing chains, just fired it up yesterday, and hoping I did not fully seat a connector, as I have a knock sensor code as well, I think its back near the firewall, middle of the engine, is that where it connects?
