    People shoot 'em on sight here.

    Eastern coyotes are bigger and less vocal.
    Some call them coywolves.
    The PA Game Commission say they're a hybrid of coyotes and Canadian wolves.

    I believe a coyote was the culprit in the disappearance of one of Mrs Gritto's cats.
    The few times I've seen one I was grouse hunting (with a shotgun)...so they skated.

    I tracked a couple in a dusting of snow one Winter.
    Never saw them, but did hear them howl towards sunset as I turned to go back to my truck.
    I was on a ridge in a remote area, and it was a dark overcast evening in a high wind.
    I thought:
    "How cliche" :rolleyes:
    But it gave me a shiver anyway.
