'Morning - I swear I'm the king of oddball issues that nobody else runs into.

I'll be getting an alignment next, but I've had issues with my vsc kicking in when I'm cornering, only it's not beeping at me and I am pretty sure it should be when this happens. The truck is a '15 SR5 4wd and I have not done anything that should have disabled the beeping, but every now and then, cornering hard to the right on pavement in 2wd, the abs kicks in and the truck will start understeering. The shocks were upgraded from OME Nitrochargers to BP51S, and the passenger side front wheel bearing was going, and has been replaced, and a full brake job has recently been done (front and rear, fluid flush, new braided flex lines) but this started before any of that work, and has not changed from before. I've tried a wipe/reset and recalibration but it didn't change the behavior.

Have I possibly missed anything? Should I be getting a warning from the system when it activates the brakes?

You put bigger tires on not too long ago, any chance what you're experiencing coincides with that taller rubber?

I've been running ~32's since I lifted it. The first occurrences were shortly after my swap from winter to summer tires this spring, happened twice in one day, then didn't happen again for most of the summer, until just a few weeks ago it happened again but still not with any real regularity. I haven't spent any time yet trying to duplicate it at will, but the conditions where it has happened have all been similar - 'spirited' driving on twisty back roads and always on a right hand corner, which has me thinking alignment at this point. It's certainly worth getting one, it's been a while and the new shocks have things out of spec, I'm sure.

Isn't there some procedure to re-calibrate the VSC when you lift. IIRC on second gens, FJC, T4R some people needed to run some re-calibration procedure because the truck thinkgs that something is janky due to new geometry, when it's really not.

Yup, I tried that, and everything seemed to work as expected, but I still got the VSC kicking on afterward.

Maybe one of the wheel sensors is acting up? I would think that would throw a code with the ABS though...

Did you check the ABS sensors are plugged back in all the way? Just thinking, those ABS sensors are pretty fragile in the grand scheme of things.

I haven't checked them, but I will. They've never been touched as far as I know. That is to say, I've never disconnected them.

Careful, they are plastic and break easy... And expensive.
I agree it would throw a abs code if it was that.

Kinda what I was thinking too. No codes or lights when this happens, or just day-to-day.

But doesnt the VSC also use those sensors because them measure wheel speed vs the other wheels? Or is VSC just using yaw?

Did you not disconnect them when you installed the lift? It's pretty easy to pull the tiny little wires out of the sensor itself, or partially pull them out potentially causing intermittent issues.

From the reading I've done, it looks like VSC uses the wheel speed sensors, yaw, and steering angle.

I've been able to pull off all my mods without ever disconnecting them, I guess I just look for the quickest way to get 'that piece' out and back in with the fewest parts removed as possible, and so far it's worked out.

It's in your spindle...I wouldn't take it/ them out without being ready to order a new one. I swapped spindles and broke one and the other was iffy enough to just replace. Don't even need to remove anything. Just turn the wheel.

Yeah, I know where they are, and have heard that they, and the leads, are fragile as all heck, part of the reason to not touch 'em previously.

I was really asking if you unplugged them. You should be able to unplug the harness from the sensor to avoid damage to the sensor/ harness if you're removing the sway bar links and dropping the UCA below normal operating range to remove the coilover.
