I don't think I've ever seen a Trail Kitchen. Now I'll have to go look that up!

Ok, sorry I didn't browse so much in here, but I'm curious what a GFC is, it makes your truck go fast? it looks like a really expensive truck cap? What are the pros/cons over a roof top tent camping

It doesn't make your truck go any faster, it's suppose to not slow your truck down on trails.
That's not why we got one though, in fact we have edited our back Go Fast Campers sticker to say "It's A Go Fast Camper Goin' Slow".

There are a few different wedge style tent campers out there, but in our research we found that this one weighed the least, which was important to us, and was overall significantly less expensive. With standard RTTs you need some kind of rack to put them on a truck, so in general your looking at a price in the same general ballpark for a quality setup, and while you can get a bigger tent, it's never going to be as fast and easy to setup as a GFC.
We also liked the fact that the three exposed sides open up.

The wedge style tent means that when you open it up you don't increase your trucks footprint like you do with some other RTTs. It's also very easy to setup and take down. We can get a full camp setup in about 10 minutes. Clean up can take a bit longer depending on how long we've stayed and what we've drug out but I've done that in about 10 minutes too.

I hope that answers some of your questions.

I have a Martin Offroad GFC roof rack (full cab) for sale over in the Colorado Trading Post forum. DM if interested and I'll send you a link.

Those with the V2, if anyone could be so kind, what is the measurement from the cab to the lowest part of the camper. Just seeing what clearance I have over the shark fin and my roof rack. Can’t find that number anywhere. Just put my deposit down today. Stoked!

Just got my V2 this weekend!

only thing I’m curious for some perspective on is that ive noticed a pinhole sized gap in the fabric of the tent. Where the corners of the tent fabric meet at the base of the extrusion towards the front of the truck, I can see a bit of light through. Doesn’t seem like a concerning amount but curious if others have this gap

Nice rig! I also have an access cab. For the tent corners I think a small gap is supposed to be normal. If it looks like mine it’s too much.

thanks, yea the gap is tiny, both sides of the fabric run parallel to the corner, just where they meet has a small non-sealed gap.

i did see on the gfc forums a mention of this with a photo that looked similar to yours. Are they fixing it?

New bed build-out completed, version 1.0 at least--pretty happy with it at this point, but I'm sure I'll decide to change something after some use...

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Very nice brutha! I would add some tracks to the top of those boxes for tie-downs and such!

I am on the hunt for a camper for my RCSB Tundra. Should you see one of any make/model let a brutha know. I may order a new one, but if a deal can be found I am down. I checked Tundras.com (which is dead as hell) and Expedition Portal but didn’t find anything.
I may be not liking in the right spot.

There was a GFC super lite RTT with a Leitner rack on ebay recently... may still be on there, and with your shipping resources it might work for you...

I am looking for a Camper more than a rack with RTT, got plenty of those. When I went from a rack to a GFC it was a game changer regarding the amount of gear I can keep out of the elements. My next truck will most likely have a MITS alloy camper on the back.

So maybe a super caps or similar and that superlite? Then just sell the leitner or seller might split it up?

Tundra camper market seems fairly small vs. Tacoma. Although AVO or Mainline had a used slide-in recently if you're inclined in that direction... 4wheel campers or similar

Agreed, while I do like the recent upgrades to v2, I love the bar work of the OG design. Now that my hinges have been upgraded and I have the new tent material, I am very satisfied with how it turned out.

Yeah they’re going to fix it. I need to take it in for a couple hours of work though so I’m just dealing with it until I travel out west normally next summer.

It hasn’t affected my using the camper at all in the meantime. No issues with water or bugs.

There’s a chance your keder cord might be bunched up at the opposite side too. Here’s the suggestion they initially sent me:

That 1” recommendation might be specific to my picture so maybe check with them too. Or maybe yours is normal after all.
