Does anyone happen to know if current 3rd gens are shipping with the hard or soft tonneau cover from the factory (when selected as an option) now?

I currently have a deposit in an Off Road that should be here by the end of the month, but the spec sheet does not specify which type it is. I asked the dealer and they said unfortunately they were not sure either :notsure:..

More than likely it’s a hard cover . I have yet to see one with a soft one .

There are both hard and soft in Canada. It's not factory installed but dealer installed. Price for hard one is higher in Canada (like double) but not sure if that means anything.

Hopefully so! I would definitely prefer the hard/trifold

Seeing as that the price on my spec sheet is $600 leads me to believe it’s probably the soft, but here’s to hoping I’m wrong..

    Oh look, another mod....
This is the one that I bought off Amazon for $232.99. It said it wouldn't fit my 2021 Tacoma, but it did. I was able to install it by myself in under 30 minutes. It is a soft tri-fold.

Tell your dealer to delete that option. You'll save $400.

If it’s factory it only comes as a hard cover and they are a 600 option

    You're welcome!

It's a stock suspension. No lift here! The tires are OEM, but the wheels are KMC "Carnage". They are the same measurements as OEM (So I could keep the stock tires).

Nice! Originally I was planning on getting 17” Method NV’s with 265/70/17’s, but after some thought I think I’m going to go with something like SCS Ray10’s in 16”/-12 with the stock tire size so I don’t have to worry about any rub or throwing off my speedo..

I just picked up my TRD Sport a couple weeks ago and it had the hard cover. Same price as yours $650.

The soft cover costs more I think, like $800USD before any discounts (lol) are applied. Thank Zep I got out below msrp just before this madness!

I think the stand-alone accessory is the hard tonneau and the soft tonneau comes with a few of the packages. No clue why they do it that way, if that is indeed the only way.

I absolutely love my OEM soft trifold tonneau, it’s really well made and easy to use/remove, and it doesn’t leak nearly as much as any hard trifold, OEM or otherwise.

The dealer will know more once it’s built and the truck receives its port-installed accessories. After you get data from the Toyota VIN tracker you’ll know and can call the audible from there, if necessary.
