Getting mine done at this same shop next week (A&A Performance Muffler & Brakes, in Englewood CO). $170. Guess that goes with the times.

Darrel’s economy mufflers on 82nd in Portland did a great job on mine. $75 for the tuck method in about half an hour. Clears my RCI skid just fine.

he knew exactly what I was looking for. When I told him what I wanted he said “oh another one of those” and immediately went to work on it.

Got my exhaust rerouted at AA Performance Exhaust and Mufflers in Englewood. They know what they’re doing. None of the other shops I called has done more than just a couple.

$181 after tax, exactly as I was quoted on the phone. Nowhere else quoted me less and took less than an hour

they said it would hold up about 10 years since it’s not stainless anymore and that section was double walled (basically a pipe inside a pipe). Looking everything over I’m convinced the exhaust routing so low there is to save cost on bends or something. Not concerned on heat since there’s already a heat shield there.

Very nice, got my appointment with them scheduled for tomorrow afternoon! And I placed my order for the RCI skids, those are 4-5 weeks they said last week when I ordered them.

nice! I’m waiting on sliders and skids. I think I’m still only 2 weeks into the 8-12 weeks. Hopefully they come faster, but I haven’t even gone off-road yet, just a bunch of snow covered roads, so realistically I got some trips to take first anyways

I had been meaning to do the reroute for quite a while now but ultimately settled on the AFE Y-pipe with high-flow catalytic converters. I was pleasantly surprised not only at the quite noticeable improvement in response (I had catless OVTune dump tubes that I removed and replaced with the stock catted down pipes) but also AFE was smart enough to create a Y-pipe that sits up where a reroute would so that it is only slightly below the bottom of the cross member, very close to the transfer case guard - so close in fact that the clamp was vibrating against it - I had to adjust it.

Just a bit of info if anyone was looking for a bit more sound (and performance?) and better placement of the exhaust than just a simple reroute would get you... for quite a bit more chunk of change if you want to thin the wallet...

(even though the AFE is stainless, I still sanded and ceramic coated - if you're wondering about the color)

I have AFE's non catted Yipes, and the build quality of them is pretty top notch!
Only issue I had was with the gasket for the rear end flange not fitting. I asked for a replacement, and got the same small gasket... Went out and bought my own 2.5" flange gasket.

Funny thing - The gaskets for the y pipe were too small also - I had to crimp them a bit and then they barely fit. AFE - great build quality, but guy who chooses gaskets has bad eyes.

Anyone know of a shop in the SoCal area I can go get this done? Looking for the tuck method.

Earlier in the thread there were several SoCal people, most moved the y-pipe but you should be able to show pictures and request the tuck. If they haven’t done a bunch probably should have the skids so they can test fitment

Just got my reroute done by the folks at the Master Muffler in Kearns, UT. Talking to them it sounds like they typically route behind the t-case but they seemed interested in doing the tuck method and it turned out great! They removed my old skid and put the new flat skid on. Clearance seems good, but if I end up getting debris trapped I might add some washers to space it out a bit. Out the door it was about $270 so definitely on the high end compared to what others are getting, but so far I'm very happy with the results.

How was the performance increase if any? What muffler did you run with this exhaust? Tia.

My gauge of performance is not a good one for most people because I came from decatted dump tubes which gave me pretty crappy throttle repsonse. After reinstalling my factory down pipes and installing the AFE, throttle response definitely improved. Sound is a little droney at times due to the hi flow cats on the y pipe but nothing as bad as my old MBRP cat back. The muffler is the AFE rock basher exhaust.

Question. When you originally removed your cats did you notice any improvement in performance?

Felt lazy and asked around shops near Issaquah Wa, and everywhere wanted 4-500 to do the relocate, and most shops didnt even want to come near the tcase or near the acauator. I did it myself in 45 minutes, tucked it closer under the tcase, and used no new material. Boom.

can you explain how you used no new material? Looks like you cut the pipe then rewelded it? I thought stainless steel was difficult to weld?

Either way at least I was quoted less than $200 and don’t have a welder, just curious. I took welding in college and understand I don’t want myself welding anything on my truck
