Would you be able to post some pictures to help document any interference with Alcans?

Last time @tweakit88 and I were at windrock, we heard a very loud bang coming from his truck after he dropped off a small ledge. We are starting to think the 2nd leaf of the dobinsons 112 pack fanned out and was sitting on the edge of the shackle and popped back into place when it flexed out a little. That shackle is pretty gouged up and we couldn’t find any other culprit.

That’s probably it. It’s pretty loud when it pops free

This is exactly why I am reading back through this thread right now. To be honest I think it may have a little to do with the word choice you have used on your website, stock shackles being “totally fine” and then in the drop down for shackle selection you put “(ideal for soa)” so people think it’s worth it to spend the extra money to have the best set up. After learning the stock shackle with poly bushings can work for 10-14 inches of travel, and that the additional drop gained is due to hanger position alone, (totally correct me if I’m wrong), I plan to go that route for sure.

I've seen my stock shackles bend and flex with stock position, stock length shocks. Plus with the cross brace helping to square up the rear frame. Bed doenst do the bendy bounce all the time down the washboard roads.

2.5" Fox relocation * Hammer hanger * Archive MD springs
The first batch of Archive HD springs have landed, have a few people lined up,
100% Archive designed. Note the shackle clearance
Made in USA with US 5160 steel, includes bushings (Deaver has no part in these)

(A smaller batch of MD springs are also in production, hopefully Oct)

Heavy Duty: Estimated ideal range upped to 700 (3")-1100* (2.75") added to rear axle, 600 min recommended weight (due to high lift). These will use 12" shock travel, as long as you don't seriously limit your up travel.
*1100 lbs added to rear axle is possible within factory GVWR and GAWR specs due to weight transfer from front axle to rear axle and gear such as rear swing out bumpers.

Medium Duty: Estimated ideal range 300 (3")-600 (2.5") added to rear axle, 200 min recommended weight, 750 max recommended for proper performance but will be lower lift. These will use 12" shock travel, as long as you don't seriously limit your up travel.

Plan is to give a discount on 10 pairs of HD springs, probably $750 pair + shipping, below normal pricing (high steel prices).
Discount is because of being the first buyers helping launch these and I will be asking feedback.
Preference will be given to Archive Hammer hangers customers. Still need to come up with a name along lines of an explorer, had some good recommendations before like "Leif Erikson", so taking ideas to. For reference, my 1st gen Tundra springs are named after Ernest Shackleton.

Start a conversation if you are interested. Thank you!

History: I already tried an HD test pack a year ago on the shop Tacoma, and I would like test the MD on my truck as well (October hopefully) to verify lift and load capacity hit my estimates.
Archive has about 5 years experience spec'ing and designing springs for the 1st gen Tundra, we offer HD and MD for the 1st gen Tundra with great results, so following same method for the Tacoma

I may have missed it, but are you doing any packs for low weight, empty bed folks?

We are considering making a spring in the future, say 2022, that would be light duty, more for speed and flex. I find a lot of rock crawler Tacomas have a significant amount of weight though

Out of curiosity, what would you say the benefits are of these over a Deaver Stage 2 or 3?

    Here's your answer @Double Down
The benefits of the Archive HD and MD are a more comfortable ride while remaining supportive, morel lift and and good travel numbers.

Deaver U402 expo series has been revised in past couple years. It seems the change in Deaver U402 stage 2&3 design specs have resulted in Deaver getting away from what they are known for, good riding springs with good travel. Their website now says 2" lift, where it used to say 3" lift. The quality is still there of course.

I have a customer who has run Deaver U402 stage 2 and 3 for past few years now. I think his stage 2 (10-leaf) were before the recent revision and they were classic Deaver, softer ride and good flex.
He then switched to stage 3 (standard not custom) in current design last year due to adding weight and has been disappointed with how "harsh" and "violent" (his words) stage 3 are now, despite being 900-1000lbs over stock rear axle weight, right at top of stage 3 range. His lift was 2.0" at that weight. These are also less limber as regards travel.

This weekend, the same customer confirmed the same harsh stage 3 ride on a friend's truck:

"Just drove another third GEN Tacoma with Canopy Camper and GooseGear and stage 3 Deavers and extended travel king shocks and it also rides crazy stiff"

Yesterday, he drove his own rig for first time with the Archive HD on road, and noticed the comfort on road, these HD also allowed motion. He could feel the rear suspension moving again. He also is right at 3.0" lift. We talked for 30 mins while he drove it.

    Then he texted:
"On another note I just went through a street that has a large dip that I like to hit going fast for fun… Truck soaked it up beautifully".

His experience with Archive HD springs is same as my own in testing. The comfort is there, lift is there, droop travel is good for an HD spring.

Been happy with the All Dogs performance leaf pack.
Plus the spring droop perfectly matches the shock length.
What would the benefit be to swap springs?
Also I noticed you went with overload spring vs no overload spring?

Info from 2nd person to install the HD vs Deaver U402 stage 3
Ok here is my experience with the Archive HD springs in table form with actual measurements. At 1000-1100lbs, these HD springs result in a comfortable and composed vehicle ready for spirited on and off road use. (Also comfortable at 600lbs)

I am upping HD ideal range to 700 (3")-1100* (2.75") see quoted post above.
*1100 lbs added to rear axle is possible within factory GVWR and GAWR specs due to weight transfer from front axle to rear axle, such as while towing and from adding equipment such as rear swing out bumpers.

    upload_2021-9-21_11-26-57.jpg

I did test the HD springs weight way over the intended range (1500lbs) for testing purposes only, and the performance did not fall off too bad, but logically got soft, but still had 2" lift and still could explore off road.
Do NOT exceed Toyota's GVWR rating for your Tacoma.

Like if you appreciate the info and transparency Archive gives you
