It will. Its think like the memory bus (and people's brainpower) that give AMD the edge.

Here's an old article about chip wars from the 1990s. AMD's engineering team came from DEC that had been developing 64-bit Alpha processors for years before Intel.

AMD's x86 64 chip is thriving today. Intel's Itanium died a slow and painful death. The architecture from the AlphaServer generation evolved into the AMD Athalon chip. Things changed after that.

Not saying you should roleplay on halloween as an imposter or anything...but creeping around the streets with a butter knife game-ending kids would be a great youtube phenomenon

I remember it as AMD64 as well; gaming community was slowly catching up and switching over while some of us were still on Intel during the Wolfdale days. I ran an E8400 on dual 8800 GTS thinking I was the shit back in the day

Man, this thing is so old it'd not even worth a 6 pack -

    20210907_132538.jpg

Would like to donate it for good cause but feel even the recipient may not enjoy it?

An old Flex 2 in 1 with touchscreen. No dead pixels, holds battery charge (not too long though), and in mint condition.

Anyone know of a person/child in need?

    Unfortunately it's 6 years old.

Throw an ssd in it and it would be a great laptop for a kid. Not worth the cost of a new battery probably. And the cheap Chinese batteries don’t last.

I know how you feel. I spent 3 days organizing/throwing away all my old electronics and computer parts on my vacation week. Still have over 10 boxes full but at least now they're stackable lol. Hate throwing away that stuff because I feel like there's some kid out there who's like I was and would love to get free parts to play with.

I think you can donate laptops and stuff to Goodwill, just make sure any personal data is erased of course.
