I also picked up two Toyota seals for the back. These were good but I replaced them anyway. Looks like the inner seal failed at some point and that lead to the bearing going bad. IMG_5958.jpg

Everything locktited and torqued to specs. If you want to save about $1,000 do it your self.

My surgery went well. At home healing up. Time to start looking for parts.

Went for a mild hike today with my youngest son (17). I didn't last long so we turned around a bit early. I should be good by next week. Heres one of the creek crossings we had to go through to get to the trail head. Met two Karens on the trail. What bitter women. LMAO. My son said hi and they completely ignored him. I said "son those are what they call Karens. Never mind them they are just over weight and miserable amongst other things." I could feel there looks on my back....... LOL such idiots.

Good idea to flip the brake rotor for hub removal, makes me wish I’d saved my old ones.

Friday I ordered our roof top tent and ARB front bumper. We have a big event to go to near where we have a nice piece of property up in the mountains. We decided to camp instead of staying at one of the local hotels. Since our oldest son lives there we will simply shower at his place. I ordered the Smitty built roof top tent. Never had one of these before. We did have a FlipPac which we loved. Wish those were still in production. Oh well.

Sounds like a cool trip. Why did you get rid of the flippac?

The Flip Pac was on my 1 ton Dodge 4x4. loved it but sold it with the truck. I was getting the shorter bed. Then Flip Pac started really sucking in the Customer Service Department. If I can find one for my Tacoma I would buy it asap..

Well I have been really busy these last few weeks. ARB Front Bumper installed, Bed rug deluxe installed, new front headlight pods and new front grill. The transformation was spectacular if I do say so myself. These mods breathed new life into my rig. I also installed new Toyota plugs and a Toyota MASS Air Sensor as well as oil change and all filters changed out. The in cabin filter was pretty damned bad! If you have one trust me just change it. Cost me $10 bucks or so. I ordered a new X2 Battery 27F. These are rebadged North Star batteries which are probably the best you can get. I changed out all the old grill clips for new factory ones. Here are some pics from my trip. I need to figure out a way to quickly take on and off the roof top tent. Its off now but is a pain to load on by myself. Had the wife help me to get it off the top. Any ideas?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqCPKCnnCeY

Just click on the "Watch on YouTube" link in the massive black box........ F-ing Youtube blocked it because a song was playing in the back ground. What a joke. Well here it is with no music or sound.

BEDRUG INSTALLED. THE ONLY ISSUE I HAD WAS GETTING THE SMALL PLASTIC POCKETS TO STAY IN. THEY WERE NO LONGER ABLE TO CLIP BACK IN PLACE UNLESS I CUT THE CARPET WIDER THAN THE CUPS. TO FIX IT I JUST PICKED UP A SMALL PACK OF 6 #8X1" BLACK CREWS. I SIMPLY SCREWED THEM TO THE BED WALL THROUGH THE CARPET. WORKED LIKE A CHARM.

MY NEXT PLAN IS TO TAKE THAT TUFFY BOX OUT AGAIN AND REPAINT IT.

This is why we make these vehicles.

Next project will be cleaning my Throttle Body and ordering/installing a high clearance dual swing out rear bumper. After that Lockers and re-gearing. When all that's done I really hope Fox has produced the 3" lift I really want to go with. For now the cheap 2" lift blocks on stocks shocks will just have to do. Oh and a set of Deaver Springs. Shackle flip and U bolt flip kit. I also need some skid plates.

Fell in Love with the property as soon as we drove up. I couldn't believe no one else bought it. BUT the driveway is super steep. Winter time would be impossible to drive up unless you had a long heated driveway. So that's our plans. I have a snowcat so for me during the winter isn't a big deal but for year round living that's not practical. Heated concrete driveway is the best option.
