I have been looking over TW since I got my truck about a month ago and have found more useful info then I ever thought possible! Only problem is keeping track of everything that I want to be able to reference again. There are some really great builds out there and my bookmarks are filling up fast.

I found myself in a tight spot when out of the blue my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT blew the turbo and in turn wrecked the engine. With about the same amount of work needed as the car was worth, I found myself shopping for a new car unexpectedly. I had always wanted a Taco, but never thought it was the right time to pull the trigger. I guess the early demise of the Subaru was all I needed.

So I now own a 2011 Timberland Mica Access Cab 4x4 4 banger. So far I have put in Weathertech Floor Liners because I loved them so much in my Subaru and I ordered a BedRug and a Leer 100XQ Cap, which should be here in the next couple of weeks.

I am no good at electrical, so if there is anyone around the area that wants to help out with some lighting mods in the spring, let me know! I have been punishing vehicles as a ski coach in VT for some time and obviously the Subaru couldn't keep up. I hope my Taco does!

Welcome NE Taco brother. You're gonna love it here although your bank account may not. I'd be more than happy to help you out with some lighting mods once it warms up...not a wiring genius but my old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. :D

Thanks! I can usually work my way through just about anything, but the first time is always a doosie! My bank account and I are already getting into some arguments about "Izzy"... The Subaru was starting to turn into my 'work truck' and was supposed to last me another 4+ years...oops! No one that knew anything about Subaru's would touch her, but the Toyota dealer wasn't afraid and gave me enough to have me walk out of there 2 hours later owning a new truck!

Welcome from Western Mass . Just got my Tacoma in October and it is loving this winter weather we got here. Last Wednesday we had about 2 feet of snow out here in Western Mass. Fun stuff. Your Tacoma will be able to handle anything you throw at it. Your gonna love it. Congrats on your purchase!

    Thanks all!
I have never had to purchase truck tires, but these stock Dunlap's really suck in the snow. Does anyone run winter and summer tires, or do most people (even in NE) run an AT tire year round? I do about 30k/yr miles but in reality most of it is paved roads except when I get into the mountains and snow is the biggest obstacle.

I run just regular All Terrains. Haven't gotten stuck in any snow yet. Hust gotta take it easy on the throttle when theres crap weather. Snow tires, or just some nice off roading tires would probably have more bite in the snow. Whatever you do stick to a narrow tire. Wide tires look really dope, but they sink into the snow. The thinner the tire the easier it'll cut through this crap.
