A member with a 3rd Gen said that my Bull Bar looked like it was installed too close to the bumper, and showed me pictures of his push bar (which I believe was a different brand); Honestly, I think it looks fine, but I want everyone else to take a look. The other member (I forget who it was) said it should be mounted further out…? My truck was in the body shop in July 2021 for some minor repairs and I had them install the Bull Bar…

That would be the classic "damage multiplier" positioning. Too close.

Makes sense that's where a body shop would mount it...so you can bring it right back when it smashes your front bumper that it was meant to protect

Looks like you could loosen the bolts to change the angle, which would add space.

Back bolt towards bottom of slot
Front bolt towards the top of slot

Very funny; Now how do I rectify it?

I feel like if I mount it further forward it will become unstable and tilt forward due to having only two bolts holding it instead of four…

Loosen all four bolts, tilt the bar down, tighten them back up. It's that simple.

So I don’t have to do anything with this? Just the bolts…?

Don't over-think it. That bar will fold up (and into your front end) like a wet newspaper in even a low speed collision anyway - no matter how tight those bolts are.

... or remove it and install a real bumper.
Hitting a decent sized deer will smoke the front of your frame horns.

I always thought a bull bar was a nice idea, protection, then when it was pointed out that it's damage multiplier, I didn't install one. I think an aftermarket steel or aluminum bumper is a better idea.

And why is it called a bull bar?
Shit, you hit a dog with that and damage occur.

The reason I got the push bar is because some ditz sideswiped my truck on the front bumper and total deformed it, last September; She tried to bribe me with a $100 to not contact her insurance company! Her insurance company’s estimate to fix my truck came in at just shy of $450…

Is that the silver thing mounted directly behind the bumper cover?

Wait till you see how much it costs to fix the exact same hit with that setup.
