Who does this? What do you use? What are good reasons not to (ie.. slick shit on your tires, etc)..?

It's a waste of time because it just gets covered in crap the next time you drive. I stick the pressure washer up in there and get most of the mud and crud out and call it good.

    You mean clean it?
I've never been impressed by someones clean and polished wheel wells.

Just clean em up and drive. Anything more is truly a waste of time.

Keep a crappy sponge and soap/wash when you normally wash the truck. Pressure wash it off.

I agree, but was washing the truck over the weekend thinking something that would not attract dirt or fly-off would be a cool product. I do just as you described and no more. Still curious to hear the OCD Detailing stories. :D

Take the time to use something like a ceramic coating or trim restoration product. It should last longer but longevity will depend on what you do with the truck. Clean the wells with an APC and some brushes, wash mitt or microfiber , just don't use these for paint. Let dry, blowing them out with air or a leaf blower to make this go quicker. Apply something like Cquartz Dlux or Solution Finish. This is my 911 after cleaning and Solution Finish.

I hate the look of a clean truck with dirty wheel wells. I have a brush I use only on the wheel wells. I clean them first, along with the tires and rims. Then I wash the truck with a different bucket and mitt.

Trim restoration is one of my favorite things to do because it always makes such a big difference in appearance. Solution Finish is relatively easy to use, just need something like a microfiber applicator sponge and a clean microfiber towel that you don't mind tossing. Just apply it after cleaning and let dwell a few minutes and then wipe off excess. Repeat if necessary. It will dry, has that wet appearance but won't sling or be greasy once dried. I've got 3 cars of mine I need to go over but I detail cars for a living so its hard to get motivated to do my own stuff.

The world has gone insane. Where I grew up a pickup was primarily a farm utility vehicle.

Damn, all these years detailing i thought I was doing it to impress some asshole stranger who thinks their opinion is all thats needed. I guess i will stick to its something I enjoy doing and can care less about what someone thinks if my truck is too clean.

Would one of you guys like to come over and use your wheel well detailing skills on the inside of my truck? :)

Yikes, man. If detailing calms you down go out and clean those wheel wells now.

Don't take the internet too seriously. Ha. I don't actually care what anyone does with their wheel wells. I hate dirty wheel wells too.
