Ditch the drop in LED’s and hit up @memario1214 for some Diode Dynamics SS3’s before the Labor Day sale ends.

The point of this thread was specifically to avoid this practice. An full LED assembly engineered around the LED light source and designed to be SAE compliant like those covered in this thread will be far higher performing without the glare to oncoming drivers compared to a drop in replacement LED in a halogen fog assembly.

Hey, I'll admit to being a dick, but in this case I'm genuinely curious. As you know, I recently dropped some coin on the SS3 Max fogs and want to make sure I'm not jumping the gun on options.

Is that like I sure hope nothing better comes out for a while? I know I'm saying that.

I think they'd have to go pretty hard to beat the SS3 max but I'd love to be surprised.

Any chance you’ll be testing the new DD SSC1 SAE version @crashnburn80?

    Welcome to the forum!

Yes! As soon as the SSC1 SAE is available I plan to include it here. It is an ideal upgrade for Bronco Sport owners and a highly versatile fog being so compact. Last I heard the product was waiting on the SAE optics.

Have you done SSC2’s in fog pattern? I have some pros on order. Could send to you first.

Awesome! I’ve actually had this thread bookmarked and looked at some of your other posts when looking at lights for my 4Runner. Also sent this link to people across various forums when they were making poor lighting upgrade choices.

I was curious about the SSC1s for my Mazda. They decided to use the tiniest little fog lights and they don’t do anything at all to help with poor weather performance. I can use the SS3s if the SSC1s aren’t great, but the SSC1s would fit in the stock location with a custom bracket vs removing plastic cladding for the SS3s. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the results haha

Would love to see the numbers for the ss2 in both fog and driving

According to a @Diode Dynamics , the SSC1 fog lights are nearly on performance par with sport SS3s. It will definitely be interesting to see.

Sounds like the SSC1s would be ideal. As mentioned they are supposed to outperform the SS3 Sport SAEs. I’m certainly interested in checking them out.

For 4Runner check out Post #4790 for headlight comparisons, post #4940 specifically for high beam recommendation and teaser post #5000

I haven’t. Those had large delays and supply issues in early Covid and I didn’t end up snagging any to test. Let me see what I can do, I’ll get back to you.

Fog definitely. For Driving I’d at least want the Pros.

I did read the majority of the testing reports and opinions on this thread (skimmed some posts). I ended up getting a set of the DD SS3 Pros in fog/yellow to replace some haphazardly installed BD in my Tacoma (bought it that way). Thanks to @memario1214!
