I guess you are planning on keeping your truck very long term then with the big cab hole. I don't think I could ever do it. I seem to trade up every 5 years

I’m the original owner. I purchased the truck, brand new, with 3 miles on the odometer, on October 19, 2005. So, yes - I will never, no matter what, will get rid on my Taco.

    I own three other vehicles.

Like I said, it’s not for everyone. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Just installed 2 JL 12TW3D4 subs in ********* box powered with JL RD1500/1 at 1 ohm (gain turned down 50%). Sound deadened all doors and rear wall. Sounds super clean, no rattles and hits hard (enough).

Taking it out soon. Anyone wants to buy, PM me.

15" dayton, tuned to around 15Hz. Box built by me, originally modeled in Bassbox, crossmember braced internally - rigid as hell. Side channels full isolated with 2nd order Linkwitz-Riley filters. Moderate fill insulation on all 3 cavities. Was built for sound QUALITY and subsonic response. Tweeters need resistors and then filter recalibration (or get less sensitive tweeters (or just yeet everything - its not perfect))

Anyone have tips for what needs to be taken out of the rear driver side cubby are for a Tacoma box to fit?

Scored a new box from a fellow member and it doesn’t seem to have enough ‘space’ for the seat to maintain full range of motion when folding up/down. Before I start hammering/cutting out parts of the back panel. Wondering if anyone has a tip or two

No issues mounting the amp. I mounted the amp on a piece of wood with 90 degree brackets on one side and sheet metal screws on the other.

Plan to install a fan too to ensure air flow to the heat sync.

Lots of people putting subs behind the seats. I've only seen one guy put subs in the cubby underneath the rear seats. That's the only spot I have space and hoping to see something to give me some inspiration.

Y'all out here making me think I need to revisit the idea of a sub. Maybe that'll be a winter project for me.

I've been an ID guy since the late 90's (high school) and my current system is ID components/amp/sub. My 10" ID sub back then sounded amazing in a bandpass box - i feel like it hit just as hard as many of my friends 12" subs. My current IDQv.4 sub now... so much better. Its just in a sealed box but sounds amazing and hits hard. The magnet on my new one is like 4 times the size of that magnet of my previous 10" sub (i just recently threw it away as I kept that old sub/box in my garage for like ever).

The component speakers/tweeter set up sounds great but I'm sure there are much better speaker setups out there. For the money though I think ID is one of the best bangs for the buck.
