My co-pilot is as of today a 5 month old Amstaff named Freyja. Absolutely loves going for rides.

Thanks for the sympathies everyone. Still tears me up thinking about her.

It's weird now when I drop some food and have to clean it up myself, I still wait a moment thinking she will come get it.

Yes, and Waterfowl. Mostly we hunt quail although the drought in California has significantly impacted quail numbers. There was little to no quail hatch this year and I am expecting the worst when quail season opens here in late October.

Remember the good times. You are a special person to take on an already senior dog, amd you obviously provided a great last 5 years for her.

I really am touched by all the well wishes. Thanks everyone.

Brought her back home today and strated crying all over again.

I've never chosen a dog they've always picked me. Life has always given me the gift of the perfect companion and the least I can do is give them a good home. It means I'm not blessed with as much time with them but they seem to know we're in it together and make the best of the time given.

I think I'll break open some of the macallen 21 I got for my birthday last week and toast my little girl.

1st offroad trip and he loved it. With his small legs and 65lb muscle weight he took every obstacle without an issue. Stood through it all just looking out the window.

So great! When I took Roy for his first off road adventure it was stupid hot, so we had the windows up, air on. As we bounced down the trail I kept hearing a constant thud from the back seat. Turns out as we twisted and turned his bowling ball of a head was bouncing off of the window. Eventually just had to open the window out of fear he would break it, God forbid he just move over a few inches...

Couple off old stage. Mount Baldy up there is rated a 3 (not to be confused with Mount Bald trail) and then a little of Saran wrap and Eagle Rock. Both rated a 7. It was the 1st real test after the suspension on some rocks. I chickened out as it got really rough but it did great. Need some sliders next to feel more confident.

Haha. That's funny. We did a little shooting and he hated that. He was fine with .22 until it hit the metal target and he would just bark and was trying to go kill the target. Lol
