Looks good! Now all you have to do is wait for you tires to wear out and go to 275/70/16s. That'll give you a bit more still. Keep a feel out for the needle bearing vibration. You may be one of the lucky ones tho.

Oh yeah I did the ECGS replacement at the same time! Forgot to mention that :)

That's the plan! Upgrade the tires when they wear. Guess that just means I gotta get the truck out more!

I couldn't wait. Bought the Pro wheels and put GY Ultraterrains on and then sold the OEM wheels with 50% tread on them.

Ive had Billie 5100s set on 0 with OME 887s for going on 3 years. I believe its starting to sag just a little bit. Can I move my setting up to 2 in the front and still run these coils or will that throw something off I'm not considering?image0 (1).jpgimage1 (17).jpg

Thats a great question. Something I was thinking about too. I would ask someone at Headstrong or a similar shop rather than relying on the peanut gallery. If you do, please post their response.

"AAL is for the rear so if you want more height there. You can get a block or a shim depends on how much you want to lift it.

Fronts you can try a 1/2 inch spacer or you can move it to a diff settings. Depends on what you trying to accomplish."

I asked Headstrong this about 3 months ago via email and this was the response I got. Assuming you can do it will just have to get an alignment afterwards.

If folks don’t believe Bilstein about the length of the stock coil spring regardless of clip setting, why not just measure stock setup vs with the 5100 installed and see for yourself?

The perches are meant for the stock coil only. Aftermarket coils are longer, thus producing the lift that the perches provide for the stock coils. What you do with that info is up to you.

5100's all 4 corners. Set at 1.1 in the front with a 1/2 inch spacer for the rear. The driveway is a little slanted and sorry for the bad pick. finished the rear today and I'm tired.

Just installed 5100's all around, at the top setting. I got the leveling I wanted and after years of driving full size truck my Tacoma now drives more like a truck than a car. Side by side the 5100's are a way better product than the stock shocks. Lastly, you are not compressing the springs for lift you are using the travel of the shock and moving the base of the spring for lift. While talking to Toytech and mentioning OME springs with this set up they quickly responded do not, because the base does not line up correctly.

Toytech told me the same thing. If you are going to run OME springs you a better off staying away from 5100 and going with the Nitrocharchers. The perch on the Bilsteins is apparently too small for the OME springs. However, there seem to be a lot of folks running this set up. I wonder if any of them have actually ran into problems?

I have 5100s with the OME 887s. I want to switch to 886 (steel bumper, winch and skids) but don't want to buy new struts.

Your two statements are confusing me. If you have 5100s and OME coils, how are they working out? :D

I am enjoying the feel of my 5100s with the stock coils and Icon leaf packs, but I do have thoughts of longer OME coils down the road, esp depending on how the setup works offroad.

I had a 5th Gen 4Runner SR5 with Bilstein 5100 on the 1st notch and OME 883 springs. It was pretty stiff. Stiffer than my lowered Accord was. I drove it for a couple years and traded up to a Tacoma Off Road. Such a big difference. I have 5100s in my garage, just too lazy to install right now. I think I may use up these stock 4600s first.

edit: also had Falken Wildpeak AT3W; the ride was a little softer after switching to General Grabber ATX

Never listen to the guy that’s trying to help you save money by telling you you don’t need aftermarket springs?

I have OME springs. I know for a fact that they do line up exactly the same as stock. I have those saved.
You can like/dislike wherever you want, but don't spread bs around.

Yes I can see how that was a confusing statement. lol whoops. My suspension set up was put on by the previous owner. The truck only has 6,000 miles so I was just curious if anyone has run into issues further down the road with the 5100 OME combo. Is it worth buying nitrochargers? Like I said, I don't want to buy new struts but definitely need a higher rated spring.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I would agree with the spring rate comment. The Sport springs always felt great to me and am stoked with how they feel on road with the 5100s (4th notch left and 3rd notch right). Even better handling that stock, always without the sway bar. Looking to get out wheeling for the final check.
