Where are the rear brakes!

Does anyone know where the LSPV is on the 2nd gen's? I've looked and can't find it...I have seen it on 1st gens.

That's the Load Sensing Proportioning Valve...it adjusts how much brake force is applied to the rear brakes. Less when there's no load in the bed, more when hauling something heavy.

 

2nd gens don't have the same setup as the first gens. I believe it's all electronic now. Not sure where the sensors are though.

 

Maybe they are within the drum?

 

Then how would you adjust it?

KeithB's post made me start looking so I found an article that says LSPV is implemented in the ABS but it's not Tacoma or even Toyota specific. It kinda makes sense because on my truck, with light load, the rears lock first and ABS starts pulsing. That's what made me start looking for the LSPV in the first place to see about adjusting it.

Now I'm thinking it's normal, and safe, operation but am still wondering if someone has found something different in the Tacoma.
