Greasing the bolt shank shouldn't affect noise, just corrosion protection. With the flex joint design, overtightening shouldn't cause noise. I suspect the nut simply loosened a little with suspension cycling.

Thanks, I'll let you know. I couldn't feel any play when shaking the truck by the UCA, but maybe it's just too small to feel.

I believe it was 85. The noise should be there from the beginning I would guess but I've had squeaks come and go so who knows.

KROWN day….I always pop out my tail lights and remove my spare from underneath to give more access to the spray guy.

Since they let me hang out in the bay my blundstones were sure slippery on the clutch all the way home!!

They had a pretty good Covid poster in the office where you pay:rofl:

Did a little shopping after and parked beside this big long 3rd GEN….Call me weird but I always will park beside another taco if given the opportunity.

Here is how to get rid of any squeaky shit.20210908_185901.jpg 20210908_185852.jpg
My truck was dipped in Krown today...no squeaks!
Park on the street for a day or two.
Took my skids off and went nuts with the power washer. Ill let it drip for a week and then slap my skids back on.

That’s crazy funny we posted our jobs two minutes apart :bananadance:

Great time of year to get it done while still warm so we can get a chance to creep.

There is a shop that sprays Fluidfilm in Oakville.... would I be better off going to Krown or getting the truck undercoated at that place?

That is exactly why I get it done now...got both done today with no appointment.
Not overly busy and the warm weather lets the stuff run to where it needs to be.

Whatever lets you sleep at night works the best...lol.
I've used Krown on all my vehicles I have ever owned...not saying you have to but it lets me sleep at night.
Look at @ontarioyota s ride...southern truck I believe but preserved with Krown.

Any disadvantage to doing it now? I would typically do corrosion free late October, maybe November

Zopiclone and a tall glass of scotch helps me sleep at night ;). I've always Krowned my cx-5 but gaskets are starting to turn soft...

I have some buddies that do it in the summer but prefer to wait a little longer...this time if year works well ....as you want it warm enough to let it run but cool enough for it not to run all out. Its kinda funny...when it gets warm in the late spring it will start to drip and seep out of places again!

That’s a great product as well and I use it all the time for many applications but also as a rust sealer.

I know many people do their own with fluid film. Crown is hard on rubber, door seals etc. I’m not sure if fluid film is hard on rubber as well?

I’m like the guy in that movie my big fat Greek wedding…He runs around with Windex and I run around with fluid film.

So you weren't wearing a mask, and ended up with a slippery blundstone driven all the way home? Was I reading that right?

If you plan for additional off-road trips before winter, the post-trip power wash will remove a lot of the product. Unless it's cosmoline, which is more water resistant.
