TBH, most of these XC riders could probably qualify for an EWS or UCI DH race, but why would they pinkbike done a poll recently showing pay per discipline and XC far outshines the other sports as far as monetary compensation goes.

Maybe I should hold onto the 5010 until mid November... another 2022 price hike will raise the value of mine.
Not by much, but it helps.

    not enough.
this happened long before i was into mountain biking. but it wasn't ever a hindrance. I just kept living life normally and did my own PT on the pinky.

lolol. definitely rubbed dirt on the injury. hahaah. along with prickly weeds.

I love the shocked look my derailleur gives me when I finally lube the chains after ignoring their horrible sounds for a few days. Actually, I think it usually has that expression.

Some of the logo placement makes me think they might be earlier..

Probably not much earlier. 2000 was around the time norco split the VPS line into more models. Why on earth would you want them? Those things were loud and clunky 20 years ago. Although that Z1 on the VPS2 is still one of my favorite forks with the bolt-on arch.

I broke mine 20+ years ago. Doc said he could surgery but also said the pinky is the second most complex bone structure in the human body second only to the foot. He said odds of it healing correctly with or without surgery were equal. I ended up just going with it and wore a splint to keep it straight for a few weeks coupled with 2 weeks of physical therapy to keep range of motion.

It continued to hurt to some degree for I want to say about 5 years and is still deformed to a small degree. I cannot straighten it out unless I use my other hand to keep it straight! I've adapted.

I cannot remember how long I was off the bike for. I injured it playing basketball.

Didn’t Jolanda Neff podium in a downhill race in the US a few years ago? I seem to remember reading that she ran a regional or maybe even National event just for fun … I think she’s the best of the women XC-ers on the downhills, though some of the new younger riders (Richards, Lacomte) are pretty good too.

The only bad bike is a bike that is not being ridden
