This is the intermittent whistling I mentioned in another thread. Does anyone know what it might be? Sounds like it's coming from below the subwoofer.
    https://youtu.be/NrRJcWRfafk

And this is a new sound I just noticed. (Note the whistling is gone after turning the truck off and on) It sounds like it's letting off pressure build up.

Does anyone know what might be causing these sounds?

Quit going to the Taco Bell drive through.

Check the wiring. It could be a feedback loop.

That is what I'm thinking it is, but do you have any suggestions where to start looking? Should I start with directly under the sub? This happens whether the sub is on or not.

Sounds like coil wine inside the amp, might be signs of the amp going bad.

Begin with any new wiring or equipment you have added.

For me to guess as to where for you to begin......start at the battery or possibly the taillight.

maybe disconnect the subwoofer first and see if the sound is still there, if it is disconnect the amp, if it still there something else is the issue.

Does mine have an amp? I keep seeing people say the non JBL tacomas don't have amps when I try to look it up.

From video, the back seat looks to have an amplifier mounted on it, no? If you have a subwoofer you have some sort of amplifier to power it.

Looks to be aftermarket amplifier not factory

Wouldn't surprise me. There are a few mods the previous owner did.

I'll start there, but if that doesn't fix it, I'm probably going to have to rewire the entire truck... Good thing I studied electrical.

I haven't done anything electrical, but the previous owner installed a light bar, a remote starter, and... maybe a canopy light. The canopy has a place for a light, but no actual internals behind the plastic. I think I might want to check for loose wires around the tail lights.

Just thought I'd report back on this. I disconnected the sub that weekend, and so far no strange sounds.
