Mine is mounted pretty close as well. IMO as long as you can get in there to clean it when you wash the truck it's fine.

I have a bull bar the previous owner installed, similar if not same one you have OP. There’s enough room between mine and the bumper to get my hand and a wash mitt in between every time I wash the truck.

The L-bracket the bar is mounted to has horizontal slots and the ends of the bar itself has vertical slots. So there’s movement permitted both fore/aft and up down. Look at your L-bracket and see if you have the same. Will permit easy adjustment.

PS: every day I look at that bull bar I want to remove it, but something keeps holding me back and I have no idea what it is.

I have been working at my current place of employment for two years now, and I probably drive the most distinctive 2nd Gen Tacoma in Bucks County; You'd think the guy who owns the property we rent would have recognized me by now...

    NOPE!

I haven't worked at HQ (rented) for several months and currently work at another property a couple miles away that the company I work for owns...

However, the owned property doesn't have a designated recycling dumpster, so I fill up my truck with cardboard from our owned property once or twice a week and drive it over to the rented property, which does have a recycling dumpster...

Yesterday, towards the end of the day, I brought some massive pieces of cardboard over to the rented property to recycle; I'd already unloaded the truck and was trying to see if I could find any spotted lanternflies to annihilate before going back to the other location...

This older man pulls up in a white Jeep Compass and is kinda eyeing me suspiciously, but he's on his cell phone so I just ignore him; I was on the passenger side of my truck, and he was parked on the driver's side with his driver's side closest to my truck.

I started heading back to get in my truck, and that's when the guy in the Jeep hung up his phone and asked rather annoyedly, "Can I help you?"

I forget the first thing I said, but I if there's one thing I hate it's being confronted by someone when I'm doing my job; A similar thing happened a few years ago when I putting trash in the dumpster at the bar where I used to work...

The guy in the Jeep said he owned the property, but I've never met the owner of the property, though I have seen what he usually drives and the last I checked it was not a Jeep Compass; A Jeep Compass doesn't exactly fit the profile of a multimillionaire (possibly billionaire) property owner!

So, in typical "autistic-adult-just-trying-to-finish-the-job-his-boss-told-him-to-do" fashion, I got irate and words were exchanged; I did not swear at the guy, but I made no attempt to hide the fact that I was pissed...

I told him I'd been working there for two years, and I still worked for the company but just not at that location, and I was recycling cardboard since our other building didn't have a recycling dumpster. I also told him the company I worked for, but this still wasn't enough for him and he asked my name...

I only gave him my first name, and then he had the balls to ask what my problem was...

I was brutally honest; I told him I was pissed because I was just trying to do my job and I had "some random guy in a Jeep" confronting me for doing so; He again said that he owned the property and I said that I didn't realize this because as far as I knew the owner of the property drove "a Thunderbird that looks like a pimpmobile" (seriously, he does) and that I'd never actually met him before...

Simple mistake as far as I'm concerned! And FYI, I don't care if you're the owner of the property or the supreme overlord of the universe; You confront me like a douchebag when I'm trying to do my job, and then expect me to be nice...?

    I don't think so!

So yeah, simple misunderstanding that could have been handled much better by both sides, but I find it hard to believe that I've been working there since September 2019 and my truck was literally in that parking lot almost every day from September 2019 to just this past spring (with the exception of March-June 2020 when I was furloughed due to COVID), and he didn't realize I worked there! And I say again, my distinctive silver Tacoma is backed up to those same dumpster at least once a week!

Here's one for the "WTF" books...

I have a FanPole hitch-mount flag pole and a 3x5 American flag that I mount to it; With the 20th anniversary of 9/11 fast approaching, I've been flying the flag on my truck all week...

Today, I was on Street Road driving to work and there's this little old lady and a man who was probably in his 50s or 60s (much younger than her) walking in the opposite direction on my side of the street...

Little old lady gives me a look of pure blistering fury and flips me off, no reason; There was no approaching traffic, so I went into the opposing lane to give them space, and this is when she flipped me off...

Getting flipped off by pedestrians and other motorists when you're driving is a fact of life, even for the best drivers, but this kinda set me off...

I made U-turn and went back to ask her what her problem was; I didn't get out of the truck or go anywhere near her...

She totally denied having flipped me off, even though I saw her do it and my dashcam did as well. She did actually apologize and then went right back to denying it; The guy she was with said nothing. She said have a nice day and I just drove off...

I'm more dumbfounded than pissed off at this point!

FYI, this is more or less what the landlord's "Pimpmobile" Thunderbird looks like...

    49D8BA81-8842-4AE3-B4D4-A4B1DC2C25C1.jpg

It's more purplish than pink, but you get the idea! It also has a custom grille if I remember correctly, but it's the only car I've ever seen him drive until yesterday...

You read about the old hag that flipped me off because I have a large American flag on the truck?

I don't regret it, but I probably won't be doing it again; Hopefully she thinks twice before flipping off trucks with American flags on the back, because the next person might not be as nice as me!

What? It's got the extra supports going through the the bumper to the frame...

Is this one also a bad idea?
